Right so the draw has been made. If you still want to join after this you can but you’ll have to do so before the end of the first round and you’ll be added to the back.

This is the order for the picks…

1) @Riou
2) @Juan Matas Beard and @Gooner416
3) @A_G
4) @jones and @albakos
5) @pigge
6) @Uncle Good-Advice and @SA Gunner
7) @Oxeki
8) @Rex Bezos and @Trilly
9) @Sapient Hawk
10) @bingobob
11) @Clrnc
12) @farzad4daarse

That means that @Riou you are on the clock.

Don’t forget after the 2nd round the order flips on it’s head.

No discussion in this thread, only picks.

Tag the next person who is after you, so they know it’s their pick.

Remember: You have 2 hours to make your pick and 20 minutes if you’re online. If you miss the window then your pick will be chosen at random so don’t miss it.

So with @Sapient Hawk once again vanishing he’s been given a striker from Juventus' 2002/03 season Marcelo Zayaleta

Not a great goalscoring record and the guy barely qualifies for this game as he was a perma sub for them that season... however he did bag a huge goal in the Camp Nou in the quarter finals.

So with our final starting XI pick we're taking Antoine Griezmann's 2015/16 season. 6 goals carrying a workmanlike Atlético side past Barcelona and Bayern before succumbing on penalties to Real Madrid.

Not only was he phenomenal he was recognised for his class finishing third behind Messi and Ronaldo in the Ballon d'Or voting that season.

So for @Oxeki randomised keeper he's been given Petr Cech... which he's allowed to keep because he actually meets the criteria with his Sparta Prague career in 2001/02 where they got out of a group containing Bayern, Spartak Moscow and Feyenoord to make the 2nd group stages.

In these days he didn't even have a helmet ffs

So for @pigge last pick he's taking the wall that was Jan Oblak in 2015/16. Guy had his best Champions League season (even if the penalty shootout in the final was lacking...)

A huge reason Atleti got past both Bayern and Barcelona that year and he kept a monstrous 8 clean sheets.

Ok so to end the first XI the randomiser has given @Riou a Bundesliga finalist with Dortmund in 2012/13...

He's a tough tackling German who just missed out on the 2014 World Cup squad...

Right so we've all reached the end of the first XI draft (barely) so I want to fire through the sub benches and give everyone a fair chance to round out their squads so pay attention to the following rules...

Rule 1) When it's your turn you must make two picks at a time. At the end of your draft your subs bench should have at least one striker, defender and midfielder on there so it's up to you how you do it. So as we're drafting 6 more players that's only 3 more rounds to go.

The rounds will be structured like this:

Rounds 1 & 2) Same rules as the first XI picks
Round 3) You can choose two players regardless of if you've already picked their team but one of them has to be your back up goalkeeper. In your final squad however you can only have a maximum of two players from any one club. The rules about making a final and reaching a certain stage of the CL in that season are still in effect.

Rule 2) Timings are being slashed in half so an hour to make your pick if you're offline and 10 minutes if you're online.

Rule 3) You will be allowed some substitutes at the end but this won't be unlimited and you still have to have a representative from all 5 major leagues in your first XI so watch this space

Soooo @Riou has two bangers to start us out the gate with his sub picks via randomiser...

The first is a big name in football today...

They call him the camel but it's not because of his football ability...

Jamie "Carra" Carragherrrrr

Also he's only going to say TWICE...

He hates Arsenal but wishes he could be like Mikky's tricky gunners....

Just a classy guy all round...

Ok so @pigge has been given by randomiser....

Layvin Kurzawa (2014/15) I'm giving him the Monaco version which still qualifies

and

Jakub Błaszczykowski (2012/13) who reached the final with Dortmund.

Ok so we're lifting the restrictions on picking sub goalkeepers in the final round so see the updated rules...

Round 1) Same rules as the first XI picks
Round 2) Same rules as the first XI picks but from this round onwards you can pick your substitute goalkeeper
Round 3) You can choose two players regardless of club even if you've already picked it. In your final squad however you can only have a maximum of two players from any one club. The rules about making a final and reaching a certain stage of the CL in that season are still in effect.
