That's not a risk though, you can have a 10 year deal but if you want out you can get out. No club wants to force an unhappy player to stay, it absolutely erodes the foundation of everything to have them around.
I wouldn't even think twice about signing a long deal like that, you don't know what happens to you in life but as soon as you put ink to paper on that deal you literally know you'll never worry about money again for a single second.
It's a win/win for the players. If they want to leave they can just push for it and it'll happen.

It feels identical to cycling 20 years ago when the little guys would always get punished but nobody wanted to deal with what was involved and what it meant to punish the guy winning the TdF in terms of vacating titles and undermining the legitimacy of the competition.
If a bottom-half team farts funny they'll get a points deduction but City/Chelsea can just do whatever they want.
