Chelsea FC: Reece’s In Pieces

We all know why.
His skin color? I think that's a huge reach, Bellingham is hyped into oblivion. It's about style, charisma, and marketing based on them.

Or maybe you mean it's because he plays for Arsenal. That's more plausible I guess since we haven't shaken off the loser label yet.

The reason he's not doing that is because our system doesn't allow him to. Saka is a better footballer than Palmer tbh.

Chelsea's system is built to get the best out of him. What do you think will happen when Palmer starts tracking back and chasing down fullbacks like Saka does regularly?

I disagree with this, particularly last season. I don't know about now, but Chelsea system certainly wasn't built around Palmer last season he just sort of happened.

I doubt he defends as defends as vigorously as Saka does, but he does press and do the other side of the game he just has languid body language.

We all know why.

I'm sure this is a part of it. Could be just a club thing? Saka is the guy many dodgy members on this forum openly support due to how perfect he is (thus being very easy to support) - I doubt the media have anything against him so I am reluctant to say it's colour.

I reckon it aesthetics like more blatant display of skills and showmanship in his trademark celebrations etc like @Dokaka mentioned.

Saka isn’t as marketable.

These times between Nando's, New Balance and his appearances with the Kardashians he's got more brand deals and marketability than Foden and Palmer combined.

In this scenario Saka isn't a victim here, it's more the media infatuation of Palmer that is the puzzle.

He's got the deals, because he's the best player (or one of the best) on a contender and he's English. It's inevitable that it would happen. You could have the style and charisma of a washing machine and still get brand deals at that level. But does he have that it factor as a marketable athlete? I don’t think so. Not right now, at least. It's not as straight forward for him as it is for someone like Bellingham. He's a likable lad, so there's that.

The media is infatuated with Palmer because he has more of a street baller style, he attempts audacious stuff. It's the same with Foden, though it has been reigned in a bit because he plays for a micromanager.

the skin colour issue still has subtleties in terms skin tone - mixed race and black are not seen the same way - as the old line goes "the blacker the black man, the better the next man".

That said, its also a club thing too - most of the media are still majorly anti arsenal. And Bellingham also has that 'superman' vibe about him too, which makes a big difference.

Saka has deals because apart from his talent he also has a great personality. Palmer certainly doesn't

Arsenal Quotes

You kind of never leave Arsenal. How many comebacks do you make? At one point it will turn out to be a bad move. We all love the first Rocky but I'm not too sure about the last one.
