What a stupid take. I personally don't agree with that ebere dude either. But asking a Nigerian living in Nigeria to sit out a convo about about racism because you saw a couple of tweets from Nigerians on racism is pathetic imo.Nigerians that live in Africa don't believe racism is a thing. They need to sit this one out
I'm not questioning them because of a few Twitter takes. I'm literally Nigerian and have lots of family in Nigeria. Scenarios like this have come up lots of times and they literally come out with "how is that racism?" and belittle my lived experience. What a stupid take. You can disagree with with that Chelsea fan, I do too, but you don't have right to question 200 million black people from a country because of a few tweets.

My family in Nigeria are all lawyers, doctors, scientists etc etc. Literally all. Education is extremely important. They believe you just need to work hard and you will get ahead. They think there is no such thing as institutional racism. Easy to say when you are a black person living in Nigeria and have never experienced even a micro aggression. Never had to be head and shoulders above the competition just to get the same benefits. Can you explain how they view racism in Nigeria? I have a close friend from Eritrea and he's very casual about racism.
I know he is, which is why I was surprised at his anger. I didn't think it was a controversial opinion. Maybe my family is different. For context, @Oxeki is a Nigerian from Nigeria so you can see why your post might have rubbed him the wrong way.
Fwiw as a Bangladeshi expat I see similar things with some people back in the homeland trivialising racism because they’ve never really experienced it, but obviously you can’t paint everyone with the same brush etc etc.
That's still not enough racism to right off Nigerian's opinion on racism.I'm not questioning them because of a few Twitter takes. I'm literally Nigerian and have lots of family in Nigeria. I've literally posted only a couple of lines. I know my lived experience. I'm not going to go into more detail. All I know is that I am not surprised at all the Nigerian accounts minimising the Fernandez affair. That's still not enough racism to right off Nigerian's opinion on racism.
I'm Nigerian and I ive in Nigeria too. I believe racism do exist. A most Nigerians believe racism do exist. Me and my arsenal mate mock Chelsea fans in my area about the racism in their club.
I respect your opinion. I'm just saying not all Nigerians share that sentiments.I've literally posted only a couple of lines. I know my lived experience. I'm not going to go into more detail. All I know is that I am not surprised at all the Nigerian accounts minimising the Fernandez affair.

When George Floyd was murdered the response on the family WhatsApp group was black people need to stop disgracing us.

So you're basically saying Chelsea fans are stupid? I knew this alreadyChelsea have a lot of west african fans due to Mourinho's time there and the prominent players during that period. What you are seeing are fanatics on twitter that will defend racism, rapists and all sorts due to football fandom.
They definitely don't reflect the sentiment in nigeria.
Why did Mourinho attract West African fans?Chelsea have a lot of west african fans due to Mourinho's time there and the prominent players during that period. What you are seeing are fanatics on twitter that will defend racism, rapists and all sorts due to football fandom.
