Christian Nørgaard: Nørse Guard

This guy is a mid-table bruiser who doesn't fit our style of play. He's not dynamic enough to influence games like Rice, nor is he technical enough to control them like Zubimendi. He's just tall and old.
His statistical profile from last year was very similar to Partey's. Showed good ball winning and progressive passing ability; so, I don't think this is true at all. He's obviously not at the level Rice and Zubi are at, but he doesn't need to be, he's a backup. We should be giving him minutes.

We need to buy someone in January a la Jorginho.

If there’s an injury to Rice or Zubi we’re cooked

He needs to play CL midweek, maybe even vs Wolves. Too many players need a break. Continue with Gyok, Ødegaard, White, Hincapie, Madueke, and fringe/youth players.

Nørgaard 14 minutes
Rice 1249 min
Zubimendi 1267 min

This is becoming huge problem in the EPL. No wonder that Arteta even wanted to re-sign P Diddy, because Nørgaard doesnt exists in his mind.

Looks like that in January new CM is a must.

Better CB than he is a DM. Low-key handled the CF better than Hincapie did.

So what is so bad about him that he couldn't have gotten some more minutes in the last games? Another simply strange decision by Arteta. Looks a solid PL player as you expect.

Arteta should trust him yes he not elite player but the guy is solid when you want to see out game or just replace tired midfielder bring him

Nørgaard had a really solid match for us, and it is good to know that he can fill in at CB. Frankly, I think playing DM for us is actually a pretty big adjustment for him even though he played DM for Brentford, and I bet playing CB for us is more similar to playing DM for Brentford.

Brentford do not dominate possession for playing DM for them primarily consisted of stopping attacks. Playing DM for us is primarily about dictating possession and keeping the ball.

I think it might take him half a season to learn how to play DM for us, and in the interim, it is a good idea to have him fill in at CB so that he can get more game time.

Not only is Nørgaard a better DCM than Partey, he's better at CB than Partey was at RB too.

Arsenal Quotes

I often relive those 49 undefeated matches. I do believe in signs to a certain extent, and as I was born in 1949, I sometimes tell myself it was our destiny to lose the 50th. Those 49 matches are etched within me and within each player: it is something fundamental, a triumph born out of passion.
