Christos Tzolis: It’s Tzol Good

Not sure. I think last season was a bit of an outlier.

Teams very rarely win the league solely based on the defence (they were even expected to score from corners).

Bear in mind Saliba (our best defender) will be out for a while as well. If our defensive level drops even a little and we are relying on these dead attackers then it wouldn’t be out of the realms of possibility we see a drop off. It’s happened to champions before.
Arsenal winning the title is not an outlier because they were the most consistent squad in England in last 4 seasons, by every metric.
It would be absolute injustice and travesty hadn't Arsenal finally won it last season

The defence and Rice won us the league.

Read the second sentence.

We have scored 91 goals in 2023/24, best ever for Arsenal and hadn't won the titule.
I will consider this transfer windows failure if Arsenal don't bring another top quality attacker, but you can't call last season an outlier.

It statistically was in terms of a premier league winning attacking unit, which is the point I am obviously making. Our top scorer got 14 goals with our second highest scorer scoring 7. A title winner with only one player in double figures has happened once before.

What is it that you’re not getting here?

Joke aside, I think he has contributed a lot and you have a glimpse of what he can do.

I can understand some of the critic on his 1 on 1 (though it is usually better), but he makes up for it wiht off ball movement, very quick decision making and IQ, and excellent passing and shooting wiht both feet.
I doubt many fancy wingers that run and dribble like hell, can create more opportunities as him.

He will get even better. He actually seems to behave better defensively than what he used to do in Belgium.

He could easily have 1-2 more assist today as well.

Cheers

Thought he hasn't looked that sharp in these first few games. Took his goal nicely but I thought his general play/touch has looked a bit sloppy, which is worrying considering he has been in pre-season longer than the rest of the team.
His touch isn’t the smoothest tbh, noticed it in his comps but I think it’s good enough that he won’t be getting called out for it. I think that’s why he’s probably not going to be a top dribbler either, Trossard has him well beat on dribbling/close control.

I like the other parts of his game, early days but looks a good squad signing and as things stand he’ll be out first choice LW which is a bit concerning considering the learning curve but it is what it is.

Looking forward to seeing him in the community shield.

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆
Gonna have 20+ assists but he won't because we employ players who can't score.

He might not be Barcola Vini or these players who got insane flair in thier game but he extremely dangerous in box all his crosses and passing been sharp in box basically he mini trossard

I like what i'm seeing, he's been our best attacker so far. He looks to be very quick in his thinking and movement, seems to have an idea of what he'll do before the ball arrives and the carries it out without too much dawdling, which is a positive with how slow our attack can be at times.

All in all looks like a really Tzolid signing.

Said from day one he’s better than what we have. He’s very good, but could become overrated due to the crap around him.

Arsenal Quotes

The club changed so much, I changed with it and football has changed with us... But one thing never changes: the 90 minutes still belong to the player, 90 minutes during which he is king.
