Christos Tzolis: It’s Tzol Good

Seems quite limited to me. Good decision-making, but that’s it. Afraid the league will adjust and neutralise him quite quickly. We’ll manage for now.
I'm a bit worried about that. I was already wondering why fullbacks let him cut in on his right foot so easily when it is quite obvious that he is no real threat down the line

like the opposite of some players who are all flash, unnecessary stepovers, etc. and no end product. Love it.

Even in a weaker league, you really can't fluke his sheer assist output from last season especially. It's very obvious that he has s tremendous eye for a pass and a real gift for finding the right weight for it.

Ødegaard can't play every minute so it will be interesting to see if he can create the same kind of understanding with Eze if he's occupying that role. Given how well he already operates with Cala and Havertz too, I would imagine he'll have a good understanding with everyone.

So far so good, I didn’t have expectations but he’s doing his thing.

I think some made too big a deal of him not being a demon dribbler, but I might be getting ahead of myself.

Atleast he speaks English. Barcola don’t speak a lick of English.
He's French. He absolutely speaks enough English to communicate. Most of these guys just like to give themselves a little buffer period in England where they can use the language barrier excuse for less media duties and I can't say I blame them.

His name is Bradley, of course he speaks English. I have yet to meet a single Bradley who doesn't.

Can’t fault his application, he’s clearly an intelligent footballer and strong minded to come back impressively after that poor 45 minutes. Just can’t shake that niggling feeling he could be quite easily nullified against the top teams. The litmus test is coming, and we’ll see soon (the Community Shield performance against City doesn’t factor into this; it was effectively a friendly).

The thing is that the top teams do not have better defensive structures or even better defenders than us. If he's able to look solid in practice and if Arteta believes in him, then he could prove to be a trick tbh. I understand the apprehensions though, he doesnt really seem to have any game-breaking qualities. I just hope he's so well rounded and smart that he's still able to produce for us

Interesting that he mentions that Eze is too static compared to Tzolis hence why I’ve also had my reservations about him on the LW over the course of a season. Like he says drifting into positions across the front three and meeting the ball on the turn rather than being planted is a lot harder to defend against than just waiting for someone to come in behind and foul you..

Seems like Arteta has emphasised less formulaic and predictable movement from the wingers this season - Tzolis and Saka keep popping up at striker or the opposite wing when we're packing the box. Strangely enough though, Eze doesn't seem to be doing that and is sticking to the same spot like the vid mentions. I wonder if that's a tactical decision or if Eze just hasn't adapted to the new approach yet.

Once he settled he was good and showed great tenacity.

That ball he controlled midair and then played in Saka was incredible.

Don’t get why he was getting so much stick. Thought he was alright.

This is one of the toughest places to go in the league, especially as a left winger up against Mukuiele.

Arsenal Quotes

Robert Pirès was a fabulous player, world-class, and for a few years, before his injury, he was unquestionably the best left-midfielder in the world by far. He had incredible technique, he was smart, a finisher. He was a killer with a smile, the gentlest man in the world who suddenly drive the ball exactly where it was needed.
