Wait he’s 24!?

Thought he was like 19 ffs.
This would be a lovely transfer if he was 19 ffs. You not being paying attention clearly 😂
Dunno man, don't think he's the issue. Not signing Barcola (Vinny but that's probably not possible) is the issue.
Even if Barcola was coming I’d still have issue with signings guys whose role is to be depth. Outside of certain niche situations
This makes me think you stopped watching at 19 seconds. I think he got about 3 shots off chances he crafted against a team our whole forward line flopped against last season.
I saw the other shots, standard transition opportunities against a Man City side on the front foot. Man City don’t play like that against us and we don’t look to really maximise our transition offence either.
But the most impressive part of his game that day was the hold up play on an almost lost ball where he spinned on his ass pretty much with his back to the the last defender to set up a teammate.
Yeah decent play but nothing special?

He looks better version of Trossard. Hence same age as Trossard in Belgium league he’s a superior player

What's the solution then? Because it's unreasonable and unrealistic to expect two £130m LW signings

Barcola and keep one of Trossinelli. Roger’s isn’t going anywhere and would happily become part of the rotation here.

Or Barcola and a promising young talent at a decent price.

Liverpool spent 200M on the striker position in one summer to establish depth, competition and to sort the position out for the short, medium and long term. We’re in a much more stable position than Liverpool are and should be doing the same thing for the LW imo.

the argument he's gonna suck because he played in the Belgium league is insanely lazy btw
He’s not definitely going to suck.

But probability says the step up in league difficulty and the lack of any elite space creating attributes will probably lead to him struggling.

I think the club are somewhat aware of it too otherwise they’d have signed him already.

I realise you maybe blocking this out, but we couldn't get the ball out of our half against City. Transitions are our biggest weakness that we should be trying to improve. Also he got off a shot against a parked bus in that clip too

That would be the toughest defense he'd play against in the PL.

It should be noted even if he isn't scoring, he's linking up well, not losing the ball, creating for others

Also I think you just don't like the guy whatever he does, that hold up play was inventive and class.

i bet they're waiting for Trossard to officially leave first before getting him. don't want to get stuck with trossard, tzolis, and martinelli all here.

Gakpo at PSV vibes. No expectations.

People who are saying we need a touchline winger... Klopps Liverpool never had one by the way.

Well yeah that’s my point, we don’t really get transition opportunities because city will either play a low/mid block like they did at the emirates or do what they did in the cup final and stop us getting out.

I don’t think City is the toughest defence he’d play in the PL, they’re actually quite vulnerable as of last season, we were just poor against them (and Liverpool).

Honestly I don’t see anything special in putting your body between the defender and the ball and laying it off to a teammate.

I need to see more but his first touch even seems a little bit loose tbh and that should completely rule him out as an option so I’m going to assume that’s not usually the case.

I also don’t see anything special about the passes he was making in the clip, but yes he doesn’t have bozo level decision making I can see that.

It’s not that I don’t like the guy. I just think it’s a pointless signing we’re essentially hoping he’s an outlier.

Can't comment on if he will be any good or not but it largely just feels unambitious and cheap. Only way it makes sense is if we plan on spending significant money on others.

No attacker looks good watching this. This guy can shoot better than anyone at the club
That’s just not true?

Literally any good attacking performance will be clear from an all touch comp? People literally started doing them to show how good/bad a performance is??

Nobody else want him? Didn’t know he was at Norwich and struggled.

How was it?

Looks like an downgrade.

Can't really beat a man, lacks pace, wants ball to feet, and didn't score in any of them. There were no stand out qualities.

Positives were that he can keep the ball under pressure and decent link up play.

The videos were against all strong opposition.

Henry say he has watched him a lot and thinks he'll be explosive for us. However he did also highly rate Lokonga and we know how that turned out.
