I thought that was a good first touch from a cross and I think he has a good first touch. Look at how often he loses the ball generally, but especially after his first touch, it's rare he loses the ball. Statistically he comes across as having a good first touch. I don't see the claim about his touch, he has weaknesses but I don't think that's a major one.

Yeah I agree, we’ll see for sure when he plays for us. I’d have liked to see an elite first touch to make up for his lack of pace but it’s not the end of the world.

The problem with that penalty giveaway is you should be clearing your lines from a cross instead of looking to slow the ball in the penalty area so it's in play with a forward breathing down your neck.

For me his strengths are decision making, final ball, close control, being ambidextrous, consequently being able to go inside or outside to keeper a defender guessing, being inventive and striking ability. His stamina and durability look elite too.

His weaknesses are top speed, his acceleration over short spaces looks good, but is it good enough for the PL? I don't know, it might be his downfall. He generally has performed much worse against the world's best teams as opposed to the decent/average/lower level teams, but which forward doesn't?

Essentially if you went into the transfer market looking for all of Trossard's strengths you'd struggle to find someone as similar IMO

Yeah that’s fair enough. I really think we missed the opportunity to sign two left wingers who can really push each other but it is what it is. We’re basically hoping for one of those elite scouting transfers where a guy comes from outside the top5 leagues and becomes a PL star. I’m not saying it wont happen, I’m not gonna stubbornly say he will definitely flop but we’ve seen this story before just last season with Gyokeres.
