I just finished watching the game. I really didn't need to watch all of it, after 20 minutes you knew this would be the same game as Juve-Liverpool was last year: Long ball, long ball, long ball, another long ball.

I was amazed at the complete uselessness of Juventus, or their tactics in fact.

It's great that we got through, but it's the least I expected after a performance like that by Juve. When the draw was made I said our best hope is that they play like they played last year against Liverpool, and look what happened!!

I remember it so well because last year I desperately I wanted Juve to get through because I thought they were the team to knock out Chelsea, now I know they're not the team to knock out anyone!

That is football in Italy and you wonder why good players who expect loyalty and support from their fans have to go to Juventus. That is very bizzare. Back to the game, This result couldn't have been better and in my opinion, Sol on the bench made Phil very good because we withered the first 10minutes and Senderos was covering Flamini like sending a message to Sol. I'm just so happy and I hope Cole recovers in time because we need all our players back especially with Bookings coming in.

I have noticed Eboue to be quite petulant in general, which is always a shame especially considering what a wonderful player he is.

yeah, but for now, i'l write it off as immaturity. hopefully he'll grow out of it...
its the african in him..dont' accuse me of being racist..am african..but he sometimes does that sh* that always gets to me. For example jst before the nevdev send off.how the f* will u try to do a backheel at that time..in that area. that ticked me off. but he is good and will only get better..

UEFA team coefficient ranking 2005/2006 (rnaking points calculated by adding points for the strentgh of your home country to the number of points. totals with a + behind them can still go up. So we're only just behind Barcelona because they're from Spain):

1. FC Barcelona- 10-23 27.4550 +
2. Arsenal------- 10-23 27.2900 +
3. AC Milan------ 10-20 25.0205 +
7. Villareal------- 10-18 22.4550 +
20.Liverpool----- 8-13 17.2900
20.Chelski------- 8-13 17.2900

complete ranking 2005/2006:

In order to seed clubs for European competitions UEFA use an aggregate ranking over 5 years (all team coefficients for those years are added. ):

1. AC Milan-------- 127.973 +
2. FC Barcelona--- 120.229 +
3. Real Madrid----- 119.229
4. Inter------------111.973
5. Juventus------- 106.973

What a great night last night.
Sadly never got to see the Glorious Gunners as I was watching my other team clinch the league.
Had so many texts congratulating me on both achievements last night.

:)

Some gers fans I know were actually wanting the Celts to win. :0
And a few Celts I know don't want Arsenal to win the CL as it would mean we have to play a qualifier.
Me ?
As a supporter of both teams, Arsenal to win the CL and Celtic to play a qualifier will do me fine.

Now We have to rate Villareal as Real and Juventus and AC milan and Barcelona than we will beat them but if we understimate them it is gonna be tough and very difficult.

Riquelme is gonna be outnumbered by our midfielders and won't get any space to do his trickery and passes.

Their goalkeeper Vieira is suspended and they've got three players (Sorin, Senna and Rodriguez) on 2 yellow cards.

I hope we the first leg 3 -0 to Arsenal and these three players get yellow card and Toure gets Yellow as well for the last 5 minutes.

Come on Arsenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game had 0-0 written all over it. Juventus looked mildly threatening but were shabby in general and we could have hammered them if our finishing had been better because they couldn't cope with our counter-attack. A great night but who remembers the semi-finalists?

Good performance did what we needed too.
Got back at 3.45 in work for 8.00 this morning!
a real killer!
but def worth it.
anyone see any trouble?

My trip fine as got a police escort around etc.

The best thing about last night though was the way the players didnt overcelebrate at the end of the game.
Its like they want the big prize and beating juve is only part of the way there and they have got there minds set on winning the thing and nothing short of that will be enough

we just made history and heny comes out sayiing it aint enough. great attitude for your captain to have.

for those saying that juve and rela didnt turn up, anyone ever wonder why? when we were playing our best football a couple of years ago, we would still go into europe and be nullified. well, it seems we'v learnt a thing or two because we'v stopped two big teams from playng their game. credit to wenger for that. we thoroughly deserve to be where we are now.
