Ofcourse Bayern is a great team we all knew that, but our performance last night was shambles, we didn't put in a fight tbf, we were literally walking all over the pitch. ( possibly an instruction from Wenger with Sp**s on Sunday?)

It looked like we already gave over when we were going 1-0 down.
I was not happy when we were 3-0 behind that we kept Sanchez and Özil on the pitch for 90 minutes, they looked exhausted.

The problem is when you defend so deep you are crying out for a lot of pressure from the opponent its hard to keep it up.

The game plan was ok, same as when we beat them. But the team was not.
The injuries cost us big time and Wenger was smart enough to rest Bellerin and Koscielny.
But i agree on the Özil and Sanchez situation, should have been taken off

For those of you suggesting we simply play our 2nd 11 in the Europa to give them some experience, and keep our key players fit for the PL. Well you can think again!

Article 6 Duties of the clubs 6.01 On entering the competition, participating clubs agree:

a. to play in the competition until their elimination and to field their strongest team throughout the competition;

b. to stage and play all matches in the competition in accordance with the present regulations;
Has anyone ever dome that in the Europa

It's all subjective though, how can anybody come out and say "you're not putting your strongest team out on the pitch" when people's opinions of players differ.

It would be plain rude for UEFA to officially come out and sanction a team for not playing their strongest team because it would mean that they are implying that the players who started are trash.

Wouldn't it you can't just register your youth players and field them?

I think we missed a trick not putting Alexis/Campbell on the opposite flanks. Debuchy/Campbell, two new players to the 11 was always a risk. Although Alexis had a poor, very unintelligent game. Constantly got sucked out to pressing only to leave Monreal 2 on 1.

Cech has said that we need 2 wins, we can still make it.

No way players of that stature are going to be satisfied with EL (and field a b-team) or 4th place to 'increase' our odds at the PL. We're going to have a proper go at it, and rightly so.

I want another game like Barca at home in February, and so do our players. The Bayern game changes nothing about that. **** the EL.

It was obvious that the game was a lost cause after 60mins. Özil and Sanchez should have been rested, they are not defensive players and should not have played full 90mins.

Sanchez badly needs to be looked after and rested, Wenger admits he over did it with Ramsey now hes doing it again with Özil and Sanchez, our two best attacking players. Caz had poor game, so infuriating when teams like Bayern can afford players like Vidal to be brought on a sub while we only have Coq.. who has to play every game.. no rest.

I thought we looked great right up until they scored. We were moving the ball effortlessly up & down the field but a poor mistake by Gabriel and a killer goal by Lewnadowski and then the game's up. Their goal came out of nowhere really. The key was to keep it tight for as long as possible but the team we had out there didn't have enough pace up top to keep Bayern honest. They just suffocated us like a red smog.

Poor, poor, poor but a dead rubber with key players missing-I trust that the players will not be too down moving forward and a win in the NLD will relegate this woeful night in Munich to anals of history.........;)

We missed Theo a hell of a lot. His absence meant their defence could sit on the half way line for the entire game and their midfield really imposed themselves on us. When the midfielders have that much time on the ball a good bit into your half and you still have to worry about the movement of Lewandowski, Muller, Costa, Robben etc it's a very difficult task.. especially without arguably our 2 most important defenders.

**** happens.. sweep it under the carpet and let's go on Sunday. Must win to keep up the momentum in the league before the international break.
