I even liked him at Chelsea, always showed nuff quality - he's moved to another level with us. A real mix of old and new. He can do the traditional No.9 stuff but he's more than that.......a managers dream. A beast.

On the whole, Havertz taps into the tradition of Arsenal target men, but with the twist of his ability to play in midfield.

In my time, the two players that stands out that could play in that role is Alan Smith and Olivier Giroud. We've had other players, like Hartson, Adebayor and even Bendtner, but the two above really delivered for the club.

Neither Smith, or our man from Montpellier, ever won over the totality of the fanbase, and I suspect it will be the same for Havertz.

Havertz is better than Giroud because of his work rate, his ability to dominate his space and win duels, and his aerial ability/intelligent runs. He'll end up winning over the fan base--and frankly I think he's already won over most fans except for some of the most online, most obsessed fans--especially if we win a few trophies.

His runs and off the ball movement are absolutely elite and get him enough chances that even with average finishing he’ll push 20 goals this year.

As much as I hate him, Adebayor in his best season (07/08) was better than Giroud ever was for us (not saying much). Havertz is levels above Giroud in my opinion.

Amazing player. He has the fitness to play 180mins per week and is never injured. He would run through a brick wall for this team too. You may upgrade on him with a WC striker, but there's always space for a player like him in any team.

He was a flop for his initial purpose in midfield, there's no denying that.

If he can develop his holdup play I'm all for keeping him as a starting CF beyond this season. He's not competing against Jesus or Nketiah anymore, he is competing against potential buys like Sesko
