I never see an option to buy attached with a price. Why would they attach a price straight away that wouldn't make sense for either party.
Happens all the time.

From the buying club's point of view they pre-negotiate a price they want to buy him at and get to use him and find out themselves if he's worth it.

From the selling club's point of view they have an unwanted player that they maybe cannot sell yet his value can improve at another club and they may even take him at the end. It makes the chance better that the loan club will use the player fully and maybe even buy him instead of just loaning him for squad depth or something.

I remember Baptista’s option was about £17m. Thank **** that wasn’t an obligation.

The whole point of an 'option to buy' is that it comes with a set price  otherwise the option wouldn't exist, it would just be a normal loan.

But surely if said player doesn't want that option then the selling club can just be like nah regardless and then set another price.

So the option to said option isn't really an option due to the price not being optimum for the selling club?

If the player doesn’t want to move then the price is irrelevant, but if he does then you’re protected from the selling club hiking up the fee.

So it's just a report based on AS, a paper that said yesterday he was going to Sp**s and it was done...and now it's done coming to Arsenal.
Aha

Is Marca the one close to real or AS? Or both?
