Welbeck has been at a secret training camp. Wasn't allowed to leave until he scored 10000 goals with each foot, 5000 with his head and 2500 well timed runs in behind.

Jokes aside, we played very well as a team with him upfront. If he could score enough goals to justify starting him upfront we would be laughing.

I would say he is Wenger's most important project. If he can get him firing then it transforms us as a team.

Edit: so he's out for months. Ffs.

Hmmm which link should I click?

Seriously though, it's ridiculous how many times our players take MUCH MUCH longer to recover from injuries than the initial reports say, the amount of setbacks and "mysterious" injuries we have is absolutely sickening.

Get well soon Wele!

Lol did anybody really expect anything different? It's foolish to think we're going to have another injury free season tbh. Continual setbacks like this is just standard for our club.

This incompetence of this transfer window continues.

This club, i just shake my head at the stupidity.

Trying my best not to be cynical.........but how convenient that we lose one of our strikers for a period of month's days after the transfer window closes and we can no longer go to market for a replacement

Well Wenger and his 30 yers of manager experience will tell you that we already have four strikers: Giroud, Walcott, Sanchez and Campbell. The numbers are there and we can always recall Akpom.

The worrying thing is that he had a bunch of knee injuries whilst at United. Is it a chronic issue?

'a period of months'. Basically a nice way of saying the season?

I'd recall Akpom in January if the deal allows.

"the decision was taken last week for him to undergo surgery by a leading specialist in the field"

We obviously knew about this before the deadline, revealing it would have only made it harder for us to sign someone. However, it does make our inability to sign an attacker even more negligent and incompetent.

One thing about Welbeck , when he's isolated the full back one on one on the wing knocks the ball past him , there's only one winner , his combintation of pace and power is unmatched in the league . I think Wenger thinks his finishing can be improved upon . If it does there's plenty of upside .
Ox is definitely quicker and he might well be stronger but hey they're both our players so doesn't matter lol. Welbeck's problems are mental in my opinion. When he has time to think he screw things up. He'll take a sloppy touch or fluff an easy chance because he gets in his own head. I'm not trying to be funny but I think a sports psychologist might be of great help to him so that he can learn to be more composed and just let his natural talent do the work.

Yeah, I heard him say in an interview he had knee problems as far back as the age of 15/16. Said he'd play a match then be in agony afterwards.
