"Arsenal striker Welbeck linked with surprise move to Besiktas

Posted by Eren Sarigul July 23, 2015

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has been linked with a surprise move to Besiktas by the Turkish newspaper Fanatik.

The report states that Besiktas President Fikret Orman is preparing to fly to England to hold talks with Arsenal and the England international.

Welbeck could slip down to third choice striker if Arsenal sign a star striker. The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Karim Benzema over the past week by the Telegraph.

Beşiktaş recently signed Hoffenheim full-back Beck and Porto winger Ricardo Quaresma but the clubs priority remains finding a replacement for Demba Ba.

The Black Eagles sold last seasons top scorer to Shanghai Shenhua for €14 million and have yet to replace the Senegalese international.

Beşiktaş will only have two first-team strikers should they fail to sign another forward before the end of the transfer window.

Welbeck provided six assists and scored eight goals in 37 appearances for Arsenal last season."

Maybe the talk of Arsène only wanting to loan him was true and it wasnt the coup many people tried made it out to be at the time ( it clearly wasnt as we signed Danny freaking Welbeck not an actual top player) thus Wenger knew he would move him on at first chance. Would be over the moon if this pans out.

Mod Edit : Bendtner? Are you serious?

Perhaps him going to Turkey is far fetched, it would kill his England prospects. If we do get this star striker maybe a loan would do him good

League is very weak
Wenger will play him wide if we get another striker, don't forget this is Arsenal, we have an injury crisis every season.

Reckon this is bollocks, if we get a CF he'll be moved out wide as a backup where he'll be given a chance to show if the good player that I think is in there exists. If he impresses, he'll feature more prominently in the middle. Can't see him going after one season.

Welbeck is on 75k - he would have to take a massive pay-cut if he is ever sold - the only team who would likely want him and pay similar wages is Liverpool.

wouldnt mind to Loan him out for a year though - the guy definitely got talent and potential. seeing him fluff chances left right and center while we try to fulfill his talent is annoying as **** though.

Honestly, Welbeck's a valuable member of the squad. He ain't going anywhere. I know many here don't rate Welbz but I do because he has attributes that other's don't. He combines the speed and strength & he's not bad skillz wise either. Having him in our squad makes us stronger.

Just can't see this happening.

the reason he fluffs all those chances is coz he is kack, uncoordinated, like he is wearing roller skates and his brain works slowly

we'd be better cutting our losses, getting rid and even paying his wages when he goes, was garbage at Man U will still be garbage in 5 years

If we're getting a striker, it wouldn't really make sense selling him, unless Gnabry is going to step up. He can still offer a lot to our team, even though he is incredibly frustrating.

We need all the pacey guys we can get. If Theo and Ox go down, which is likely, that leaves us short of speedy wide men, if Welbeck leaves.

yes he got nice attributes- dosnt change the fact that he is an attacking player that cant score, cant assist and isnt clever enough to make the runs we need. and we do actually lack goals if we want to win the league or do better in the CL

every single year United fans said - this will be the year he dosnt look like a headless chicken - every year they have been wrong - with the amount of PL games he has - the major faults in his game are mind-boggling
