David Raya: No Raya Sunshine

These not simple passes we asking him to play between the line passes at times under pressure if you over hit or miss your teammate you in trouble. That's why mistakes happened

Ramsdale got away with few in his first tow season too you simply need to be perfect
The mistake tonight wasn’t a ball between the lines.

It was a poorly executed pass to a full back.

The first goal was a half error. It wasnt a calamity like Onana backpass to give away their penalty against Galatasaray. He is partly to blame; however could Tomiyasu have realised the ball was a little under hit and gotten back goal side of the Lens player?

Its another error leading to a goal. However Raya is only part to blame.

Still much prefer him to Ramsdale.

I backed him to be the superior keeper, but to date he’s not been that much better on pure eye test.

I think Ramsdale gets killed if he had the same Sp**s and Lens performance. Has this guy even been in cauldrons like this?

That's not right, the pass was an awful pass straight for the defender to intercept. It was fully his fault.

His distribution was supposed to be world class but from his first start he looked suspect. He got a lot of praise for his passing in that game but if you go back he hit some really bad ones as well. People just seem to see what they want to see.

Regardless, we know Mikel by now and he has an agenda with “his” players so we won’t see Ramsdale again bar injury.

Think this quote from the post match says it all

On if it was disappointing to see David Raya’s error in distribution for the goal...
No.

Let two soft goals that Ramsdale would of saved and cost us the game, similar to match against Sp**s.

Thought he was brilliant for Brentford last season and expect him to be great signing for us but don't think he's really showed it yet. Has looked quite nervy so far and obviously his mistake led to the goal. Totally different playing for Arsenal tbf.

If Arteta is really serious and fair about this whole rotating thing though, I don't believe he is, you'd think Ramsdale may get his chance again soon.

He had been playing quite well, to be honest, and everyone is allowed to fail eventually - no player is perfect. But he has some major responsibility in the loss, yesterday.

Has to improve massively to justify the 30M option. Too much for the marginal improvement to date.

It was a great goal, but I think Ramsdale saves the first. Similar to the Salah one last season.

Ramsdale/Raya are Liverpool's comparisons to Karius/Mignolet.

Now who is our Alisson upgrade? Maignan is the the closest to that but he is ridiculously injury prone and expensive, plus a huge AC Milan fan.

Maignan, Alisson and Courtois are still the three best keepers in the world.

Raya was tested seriously twice vs Lens Away and Sp**s and has failed.

Ramsdale would get his chance pretty soon the way Raya is playing.
I have no doubt Raya is better with his feet but he is making far too many mistakes currently.

I think he's better technically than Ramsdale but he seems to lack the mentality to play well under pressure / for a big club

Appears to be extremely indecisive with ball at feet
