Yeah this guy's outrageous isn't he, 17 clean sheets in a PL season (together with the defence) is just stupid stuff really.

27 in all competitions is crazy could be couple more before season end i always said him Saliba and Gabriel take like more than 50% of credit why we competing in pl and cl last two seasons thier consistency hard to match

Thankfully he's not even in his prime yet and we should have him for another 7-8 seasons. He has a chance to put himself alongside Seaman and Wilson.
Yeah he easily can stay consistent for at least 4-5 years after that you'll expect some agility he'll lose

I agree. He's phenomenal.

Lehmann was great in 06 but he was dodgy in 03-05 and again in 07.
This is my issue with Lehmann, top top keeper on his day, had some amazing moments for us, but he wasn’t as consistent as Raya has been for us, nowhere near it.
Even during his time here there was keepers the fanbase would take over Lehmann, and I get it’s 20+ years ago, but there’s no keeper I’d swap Raya for.
Hes just that good!

Don’t see any of these expert pundits backing their boy Ramsdale now. One of the best signings, possibly thee best, in the Arteta reign and he’s the one Arteta took the most criticism over.
Garden variety xenophobic stupidity. Had it been another English keeper, they wouldn't have cared. Clearly a masterstroke in hindsight. We might all need to apologize to Inaki Cana.

It's different for keepers. They can still be absolutely top class in their mid to late 30s. Look at Courtois who is 3 years older than Raya. He still looks like he's improving rather than declining.

Not hyperbole to say he’s the best Arsenal keeper I’ve ever seen.

Lehmann was very good but this guy is top top. Been an incredible safe pair of hands for three years.

If we had him a year earlier instead of Shamsdale we’d have won a league title already.

I would certainly agree. I think we sometimes sleep on how good he really is due to Saliba and Gabriel playing ahead of him but he’s saved us on plenty of occasions this season.

Excellent GK and we’re very lucky to have him.

Raya/Gabriel/Saliba/Rice is the best defensive unit in Europe and its not even close really.

The only Inaki Caña son that worked out in the end.

Don't mind the pie in my face at all, I didn't think he was that big of an upgrade on top form Ramsdale, but he's the best keeper in the league by a good margin.

It's a bit of a head scratcher he's not Spain's starting keeper, but I don't watch them often to know if Simón is that better than him overall.

They don't need his passing ability as much, and Raya could be better at collecting crosses and not having a couple of brainfarts here and there, but surely he's a much better shotstopper?

Guy is insane at it.

I'd add Timber to that. He's Sagna levels of defensive security.

Spare a thought for our LBs, though. Occupational hazard, that position is. You could be made out of titanium, but somehow you'll become an injury prone mess the moment you put pen to paper. 😭

Simon is solid for Spain, in fairness. He’s not elite, or even a standout, he’s just solid, and that’s why he’s still number one - despite not being the best keeper currently available ( he’s no where near as good as Raya or Garcia ) he’s not done anything wrong to have the number one spot taken from him.
However, Simon is basically a few poor performances at the World Cup away from losing that spot permanently.

Joan Garcia is better than him still I think and really should be starting in the summer.

In the world I’d have it:

1) Garcia
2) Courtois
3) Raya

He's still third pick for Spain, or am I mistaken?

It’s close between Joan and Simon for the number one spot.

Joan has ascended and Simon has been poor this year but LDLF is like Southgate with Pickford when it comes to Simon.

Raya should get third spot but this is like when De Gea was at his peak and Spain would never pick him because he wasn’t in La Liga.
