He's made me eat my words. I wish he was a bit taller, but damn! He is elite. Arteta was 100 percent right on this one. He's undoubtedly top 3 in the league and probably the most in form keeper in the league.
I think Ramsdale leaving has eased the pressure on him. We were definitely harsh on the guy when he arrived. Turns out he is a far superior keeper to Ramsdale.

He started off shaky, but the pressure erased after that last Porto game. He earned his stripes. And then the Brentford game where Ramsdale nearly gave the game away, you could see the clear difference between the two.
This year he has stayed hungry like he is on a mission. Improved his play from last year. But also he knows Arteta's history with GKs and what happened to Ramsdale after good seasons and a contract extension. He is gonna make sure nobody will replace him and he is playing like it.

Now we have to mention the sad fact that he was actually our first choice the summer we signed Ramsdale but Brentford were unwilling to sell at a reasonable fee. We may well have a couple of titles and an extra year of CL football if we'd gotten him then.

The way they banged on about it as if Ramsdale was Englands number one and in peak Neuer/Buffon/ form was ridiculous. Also all his media mates jumping in on it questioning Arteta.
He’ll probably struggle to get into future England squads, and looking at another relegation, but don’t hear his media mates talking about that now

Tbf to Ramsdale his one super attribute was pulling off worldy saves, so reckon he woulda saved it as well. He pulled off some ridiculous saves for us.
Raya easily trumps him as an all round keeper tho. I was dubious at the start but it's clear Teta knew what he was doing. So glad we have him.
