I dont care for sites or clubs to try to use some kind of system to value players. I have no problem with that. But it aint built on scientific method.

So you have a problem that CIES is based on scientific method and clubs use it? All people have some problems of course, but this one seems weird to me.

Anyway, we need oxygen and water, (maybe beer) not estimation sites. But good to have some for free to give some "starting point" to own estimations without having to go through many places. Thanks for info.

FIFA disagrees with you. CIES is fully supported by FIFA, which uses it for its own analysis, as do other organizations and clubs. FIFA even has this to say on their own website:

Since its creation in 2005 by Raffaele Poli and Loïc Ravenel, the CIES Football Observatory has become a reference point in the demographic analysis of the football players’ labour market, the technical analysis of player performance and the scientific estimation of transfer values.

Researchers from the CIES Football Observatory are specialists in quantitative methods. The services provided include the mining of data and its visual representation. We also have expertise in the production of data through questionnaire surveys, as well as in the editing of research reports.

The CIES Football Observatory has been regularly mandated by prestigious organisations such as FIFA, UEFA, City Football Group, Chelsea FC and SL Benfica. Mandates have also been carried out through the wider remit of the CIES Sports Observatory for organisations such as FIBA and the IOC.

Are you a sadist!? The guy just told he has problems if sites or clubs use scientific method on estimations!

But seriously, thanks for that, didn't know. That's quite a compliment from FIFA to CIES. Great to have free information from professionals collected to one place.

And how does this model work? How is each step in the scientific method carried out in estimation of players values?

How has this model performed in last 5 years?

Yeah, don't remember where. I think it was over 75% success rate of completed transfers. But markets are changing and there are many factors to take into account. Must be hell of job to even try to do it scientifically.
And thus the discussion about whether fields like economics are actually "science" continues.

Football is not science, not even remotely close. Scientists just want to get involved in the money by trying to convince people they know what there on about. I guess they have nothing to live for.

2 pages of arguments over valuation websites. Is this player any good? If he is, then I couldn't give a flying about his valuation according to scientific metrics.

Bild sport are trash aren’t they? Find it hard to believe that sort of bid would be rejected for Upamecano or Konate.
