When has Everton signed players the level of Ødegaard and White (tempted to put Tomiyasu in there too, tbh, because he looks quite legit) in their prime? C'mon.

I think this window will prove to be very, very well-regarded with the benefit of hindsight. Book is still out on Edu but I have a feeling that in a couple years a lot of people are really going to be regretting a lot of the crap they have talked about him, looking back on this window.

What have White and Ødegaard done in their careers to garner such a reputation? They're talented, but let's not pretend they are amazing signings.

Everton have signed Lukaku, Richarlison, Pickford, Digne, Godfrey in recent years. These are arguably players of a higher calibre than the guys we've just brought in. Hence the comparison.

There is so much wrong with this window and the motivations behind it it's hard to summarise in a single post.

Bellerin is more suitable for loan coz his wages must be much higher than amn and offloading that itself will be good + no club might pay a big fee for his given his injuries. Amn is fit young and English trying to go to an English club.

I find it insane that we haven’t picked up a CM, even on loan. We can’t rely on Partey. Also both Partey and Elneny will be off to AFCON.

Aouar for example could have covered for Partey, Xhaka, Ødegaard, ESR (LW).

What will we do if Ødegaard picks up an injury? ESR has shown nothing to suggest he’s a playmaker. We’ll go back to having no creativity.
