Let's say that Isak becomes available and you can basically swap him with Saliba (Saliba to Real for the same amount as Isak to us), would you swap or not?

Or would you rather have Isak+Huijsen or Saliba+Gyökeres?

saliba + gyokeres

I don’t see the fuss about this guy. Barely noticed him against us apart from the goals.

He’s very good on the ball distributing and very good aerially but can easily be bullied. Not much of tackler, positioning is good but not high level and like I said he’s weak. He’s MILES behind Saliba. Unless he improves a lot quickly, I don’t see how we can rely on him replacing the current CBs.

We will have to be madmen to pay £50m on “potential” for a defender when we aren’t even putting that on starting position in attack.

Then you are really naive...

One is world class attacker proven the best striker in the Premier League (better than Haaland this year), the other one flopped in the Premier League and is only showing some promises in a league worse than championship...
He's not naive, you're naive, I'm afraid, if you think letting Saliba go in that exchange is a wise move and Huijsen could replicate what he does, as talented he is.

We need an attacker, yes, but our rise in the last few seasons has chiefly to do with how solid we are defensively and the Saliba-Gabriel partnership is the biggest reason why. It's not that easy to build that chemistry. You'd be throwing the foundation away.

He’s way too good to sit on the bench, so unless there’s a strong indication that Saliba or Gabriel will be sold this window or next, there’s no way he signs for Arsenal.

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆
He gonna replace Konate who strongly rumored to leave or maybe Gabriel if I hope not move to Saudi league.

He not gonna go to either of those clubs to sit on bench specially when Saliba Gab Van dijk and Konate injury record is very good

If it is between us and them I think Liverpool make more sense with Konate being linked away and VVD getting on. London and a Spanish contigent in Arteta, Merino and Zubimendi could work to our advantege. Gabriel or Saliba leaving obviously changes things though.

Would love him to move to Madrid, makes so much sense and stops us from needing to sell Saliba.

Gutted we couldn't get him but doesn't make sense for his career. Glad no other PL club is there.

For now.

Saliba is still going to see out his contract and sign for them for free imo. But ya at least we’ll get 2 more seasons out of him.
