Not hating on Rice here, but Gabriel is the only guy in the squad with some actual fight/constant hunger in him. Everyone one else is either too nice, too cowardly to take responsibility at crucial moments.

Hell, even when he makes a mistake leading to a goal, you just know he's somehow scoring to make it up for it.

Dude cant take the ball from defence and play it forward, cant play on the half turn, so he cant play as lone 6. Cant play as an 8 since he cant pass quickly and creatively. He is good for long passes, runs forwards, recovery runs and ball winning. Strange conundrum to have, so i guess its gonne be rice + zubi double pivot with the #10 floating forward. Zubi cant do it alone as he lacks pace. Maybe thats why we linked to Tonali

Yeah.. he is going to lose his spot in the first XI soon. We cant carry him in midfield, but when facing an equal or stronger team, he and zubi can hold down the fort.

He was quite anonymous first half, especially in possession. I really hope Arteta persists with direct football, like against Leeds.

Obviously second half, he became pivotal as we defended more in a block. These phases bring out his best attributes. Nice assist to Havertz

Monster in midfield, even when he has games where he is poor on the ball, he is unthinkable in our squad. One of the reasons why we became so hard to break down.

So many still focus on the things he isn't great at, ignoring that the things he is best at, he is as good as anyone in the world. Despite being knackered made a lot of important tackles late on and then ran 70 yards to set up the winner with a perfect crossfield pass on his weaker foot

Also thought he showed good mental fortitude to make sure that pass made its way to Kai. Only one defender to beat but we all know a few of ours players would have panicked at the thought of sealing the game and probably failed to execute that pass.

The schedule has been brutal though. I was hoping the period between Brentford and Sp**s would give some relief (with the FA cup tie in the weekend where we can rotate) but I think the Wolves game will be squeezed in there

Anyway Mikel needs to be smart and find ways to rest this guy in the next few weeks

Whatchu mean no reason??? These mfs have played an insane amount of minutes this season. Our schedule has been ****ing brutal. Him and Zubi are legitimately running on fumes. Its no coincidence they havent been super great the past month or so. 4 competitions is ridiculous

That's why we're annoyed that Arteta is afraid to use Nørgaard. And, we've played bum teams to start him so there are no excuses here. Rice and Zubi need breaks. MLS and Nørgaard should be getting minutes in midfield.
