If we're talking straight DM ( as the role was) no-one in the past 30 years touches Gilberto Silva.

Rice is a better all round player and athlete but he's not as good as Gilberto was as a straight DM. I'm 100% sure of that.

The likes of Coquelin, Flamini were trash compared to him.

yeppp that is how roman build winning squad at chelsea in every transfer window and he did like that (secret agent payment) from 2009-2022, so basically they bypassing the law & that is why they got 74 charges by fa premier league

if since beginning premier league caught them did illegal then chelsea will never ever have proper winning squad to help them win premier league including ucl because that winning squad also play at ucl competition

this is why if football fans use their logic they should not count chelsea legacy trophies from 2009-2022 just like football fans did not count mancity legacy trophies under mansour who get caught cheating and got 115 charges

A lot of Arsenal players like Coq over performed under Wenger. The list of players like Song, Alexis etc who went from hero to zero are many. He picked a lot of players up for next to nothing and sold them at a profit. That’s how for 9 years Arsenal spent net £zero on transfers during the stadium build.

Imagine asking Pep Guardiola to do that? He couldn't, he wouldn't, he'd walk out.

Example from likes of Henry-RVP-Giroud. Even Giroud a very good forward but thats the drop off.
