Declan Rice: Bend It Like Decam

You didn’t watch the game but have opinions. Those chance created were from corners. He was poor in attacking that he did nothing creative despite playing high. Runs and side way pass is not enough.

Have to appreciate his effort and desire; showed up others for that yesterday. But unfortunately it's not enough for a £100M midfielder under this style of play. Obviously have to blame the manager not Rice.

I don't disagree here, but if you are trying to make some sort of a b2b or playmaker from Rice then I'm afraid you will be right.

If you wanna have a £100M player in him you play him to his strengths and not his weaknesses

A driving run has to lead to a shot or a pass that further the play. His runs tend to be run past one midfielder then pass wide and the attack restarts because the wide man is hugging the line and has nowhere to go. It’s a lot of energy for little impact play. But it looks good on the stats sheet

Man shut up. He was easily our best player yesterday. Guy actually managed to make Martinelli look decent and we created more from our left than we did from our right.

And yeah I’m talking about open play.

And I’m saying all this as someone who thinks he’s being played out of position anyway.

When weirdos like you and your kind post big chance created to make him look like he was opening teams up, you need to add those chances were the corners

He was played high without doing anything good in attacking play. He’s not good enough as 8. Any sane person can see that

I didn’t post the stat about chances created and I haven’t commented on it. I have eyes I watch football games with. You have an ass that spews content on this forum. There’s a difference.

This is awesome how @Rasmi liked this post that is backhanded praise for Rice just because it attacks Arteta. So cool.
I have never questioned his work rate, honesty and professionalism. But I have questioned his ability on the ball, his passing and his vision. He will always give you 100%. All I consistently say is he’s not a 100 million midfielder while his fans post stats all the time saying look how well he’s done. Most chances + most big chance created implies he was running that game offensively. But he wasn’t

He was for Arsenal though. Like even eye test wise. Name one player who did more in attack for us than him, I’ll wait. Havertz? Martinelli? Trossard? Ødegaard?!?

(And yeah I’m fully aware it was a low bar)

Trossard one touch pass was the best thing we did attacking quality wise. Having said that I would say Martinelli was our best attacking threat

You need to goto a “learn about football” bootcamp.

Martinelli was the second best (second least worst?) after Rice for me tbf.

You know what I even cba they were all **** whatever.

If you want to be compared to the likes of Vieira, Rocastle, Petit, Gilberto, etc here...then you need to do more, you need to win...hell even Ramsey starred as we won multiple FA cups!

Rice has been better recently, but also has been way below par this season too especially for our main midfielder...especially since you want to compare him to our very best.

League, Cups, Europe...I am not asking for you to win everything, but great players (especially great midfielders) drag their teams to at least something.

Does Rice have the ability or personality to do that... @Jury is still out, tbh.

Wow. Everyone forgetting Rice is a European Champion.

Maybe being held back by Arsenal like Giroud was

Arteta has ruined whatever you think being an Arsenal fan is

If you weren't a mod I would be working overtime to try and get you banned here, bruv!

Rice was very mediocre yesterday. He was just passing sideways and backwards all match as usual and only had space to run with the ball because Newcastle allowed it sitting back playing with a low block after leading. Any half decent player could've have done the same with the same sort of space afforded. And to top it off his end product was missing. Hardly created any decisive chances with his final delivery. This fraud aint no 100m player
