Declan Rice: Bend It Like Decam

But that was also the point I was trying to make. We basically have Saka that's at the level of the PSG forwards, the others I'd say are a step down.

So would getting better forwards solve a lot of our creativity issues, or do we need what many are asking for and that's a more attacking signing for that central midfield position instead of Zubimendi?
I understand you now. In reality we need both. We need someone to feed the striker but if we can't make a midfield signing, we need an Henry like forward who can create for himself or latch on to a through ball that any of our current players could make.

Glad he stood up to Fofana when he had a swipe at him.

So many excuses being made for a player who just isn't good enough, we constantly lose midfield battles anyway that shouldn't be happening even if we were playing him slightly out of position and so many other teams look so much better than us building up through the middle too (not all Rice's fault, but for someone who's a "better passer than Patrick Vieira" he should take some blame in my humble opinion!) he's also not a leader and he's kinda a softie which is annoying, he's not awful but he is overrated...Kante and Casemiro being brought up in this thread lol.

Not really having the "big six" record under him, we are just a more defensive minded team under Arteta so that set up suits the bigger games anyway...plus a lot of the big six teams have gotten weaker since 2023, what's our record like v Newcastle or Villa with him or in do or die cup games?

At the end of the day the club made a mistake signing him, especially for the money we did...Arteta miss-profiled/miss understood what he was (and didn't understand what Xhaka actually brought to the left midfield role skill wise, thought we just needed legs in there seemingly which was quite poor from the boss) and it has lowkey fu3ked us (not as bad as Kai did, but still not great)

We just have to live with it guys, he's not an elite midfielder 🤷‍♂️

That's a high word count for so much nonsense. We almost never lose the midfield battle and we aren't a defensive minded team. Pick any random game and there's a 90% chance that we dominated territory, had more shots and more possession. Defensive minded sides do the exact opposite of that.

What prove to me today even Rice was miles better than Caicedo and Enzo but all 3 shouldn't cost combined 300m

He probably won't get given it due to his position but Raya deserves to be in the running for player of the season along with Gabriel and Rice.

Have Tottenham closed the gap on Arsenal?
Last time I checked they were still 4 miles and 11 titles away
