• To all AM members and guests.

For the start of the new season, Arsenal Mania has relaunched the news side of the site. All articles are written by genuine Arsenal fans with no hidden agenda. You can visit the site via the menu at the top of the forum pages or go direct to our homepage

Additionally, Arsenal Mania is now sending all its registered members a bi-weekly Briefing Bulletin containing a digest of news and views from both parts of the site. Some of you may have already received the first edition and those that haven't should do so before the big kick off against United. If you are a guest visitor to this forum then if you join as a member, you will automatically receive the Bulletin.

Please support both these initiatives and help ensure the long term future of our site.

can't lie partey last few games he just started to get bypassed so easily i hope Zubi fix that

I’ve clocked the issue with the Rice and Partey pair. They struggle against organised defences, but are great when the game is more end to end.

Neither move the ball fast enough against packed defences, but when there’s pace both can dominate and exploit the space like the opposition isn’t there.

Zubi will give us a good option hopefully with his passing.

if Zubi can do what he does at Socidad be the first player that in build up and can be quick with playing ball forward we'll be really good against team that press us high.

I think this season he’s rotated to the very limited extent possible. Last seasons I been on his back about it.

I don’t believe in rotation in the final 3rd of the season though, in my book once you get to the end zone you go for broke.

Which games this year do you think he could have fielded reserves and/or didn’t rotate enough?
I think I already talked about this and mentioned that in early cup games he should have used more of the bench, but he didn't.

Ethan got a run of games and once Saka came back the kid was shining the bench with his ass again.

Three of our players going down to hamstring injuries isn't unlucky. It's because they've been overplayed.

Before Gabriel got injured Kiwior couldn't catch a game to save his life and now that he's playing he's doing a much cleaner job than Saliba, who had quite a few brain farts.

He doesn't rotate enough, doesn't make changes quickly enough when we're down a goal and only trusts a select few players from the squad.

Dream of a player. My only issue with him is we don’t seem to be getting the best out of him from week to week. This man is capable of pretty much everything a midfielder can do. An Arturo Vidal type. I think we aren’t seeing him at his best often enough.

But he is not. And that is okay.

This is the best of him.

Arteta got it right once he saw in training/matches what Rice could do and also what was best for the team.

He’s not one of the best in the world though, Jorginho isn’t actually better than Partey at anything they play the same way just Partey is also more physical.

‘Controlling the tempo’ is an arbitrary complaint there’s no way to actually prove it one way or another, no one mentioned it before this thread.

He is one of the best in the world. It's why us, Real Madrid and Liverpool were vying for his signature.
Jorginho is a better passer, he's better tactically, he's less prone to lapses in concentration and he has a higher football IQ.
If you think they play the same way then you just don't watch football properly, there's nothing else to add to that. It's not Fifa where you just stick someone in CM and they all do the same thing.

'Arbitrary' has now taken the place of 'made up' in your post just to try to keep it fresh. I'd be amazed if nobody had mentioned it before now, as it's one thing he's excellent at and it comes under tactical awareness and football intelligence. The fact you've been called out for you intentional point missing though just speaks volumes. You've had multiple posters explain it and you just continue to drone on.
Just requires a bit of more of a closer watch of how people play the game.

Such a clueless take. Jorginho is clearly better at passing between the lines. I was so jealous when Chelsea signed him.

They do play the same way though Partey is just more mobile and physical, you can try over complicate it if you want but you'd be wrong. Partey is the better player though, Zubimendi isn't better either.

Did you just discover using words interchangeably? Not sure why you'd get hurt over that. I'm not missing any point again I'm just telling you you're wrong, you haven't said anything complex to misunderstand.

He's not clearly better at all, Partey can do it all with passing I think people underrate him because of allegations. Not point trying to convince bias.

Nobody has mentioned allegations in years, there isn't some grand conspiracy against a midfielder most of us want to see extended and stay here next season  You are beyond a joke at this point.

Thankfully for you someone has kindly posted a scouting article for Zubimendi with some analysis of his play that should help you out.
