Declan Rice: Bend It Like Decam

So many still focus on the things he isn't great at, ignoring that the things he is best at, he is as good as anyone in the world. Despite being knackered made a lot of important tackles late on and then ran 70 yards to set up the winner with a perfect crossfield pass on his weaker foot
He’s the main reason we play boring football just as he’s with England

Whatchu mean no reason??? These mfs have played an insane amount of minutes this season. Our schedule has been ****ing brutal. Him and Zubi are legitimately running on fumes. Its no coincidence they havent been super great the past month or so. 4 competitions is ridiculous
It’s always hard to tell when it’s tiredness v just having a poor game.

This is his minute count going into the Chelsea game. He’s been rotated well imo, gets about a week’s rest every two 90s. Can’t ask for more than that…

100% record when he doesn't play, you say...

he was one of the ones who I felt were below their usual level for no reason aka lights too bright but even when he’s poor going forwards he’s always going to be solid defensively.

Also thought he showed good mental fortitude to make sure that pass made its way to Kai. Only one defender to beat but we all know a few of ours players would have panicked at the thought of sealing the game and probably failed to execute that pass.

The hate for Rice is contrived.

He was man of the match yesterday, again.

You need only look at that last play at the 96 minute to understand what he brings.

He is okay when we are defending a lead. No one denies that. However as a midfielder during the attack phase or buildup phase he is severely limited

I swear people on here wont be happy unless players get 2 weeks rest between games. 😅

He did run sometimes like he was tired but he was probably just bluffing. Had Chelsea players just were he wanted then. Saka does it too with his limping around.

Do you genuinely believe this?

Yes, our best and most consistent the past three seasons each season. Rightly got CL Team, PFA Team, nominated PFA player of the season and won Arsenal player of year last season. Rightly got in the PFA team in his first season for us and I thought Saka (who I thought wasn't amongst our top 5 performers that season) was wrongly voted Arsenal player of season ahead of him.

This season at present, Rice is the bookies 4th favourite to win the Ballon Dor (behind Mbappe, Yamal and Kane) and is currently the bookies favourite to win the PFA player of the season.

Rice is a player I'm envious that you have, he just does everything right. I hope you don't find this a strange thing to read but to me he's the perfect Sir Alex player. He might not have the guile or technique of Busquets but he's got what it takes to win you a league, he's always switched on and doesn't get complacent. Weird to see so many turn on him as an outsider.
