The defence and Rice won us the league.

Shame Xhaka’s going but makes sense, frees up space in the midfield and may give us the upper hand for Diaby. Ideally #5 goes as well.

They offered more than Madrid for Bellingham by all accounts. They don’t give a toss.
I guess but Bellingham is a generational mega talent. I could see inviting some heat on yourself to try and sign him vs a player like Rice who isn't as good and doesn't fit as perfectly into your squad.

This deal gives me Jesus vibes, think we have done enough ground work and showed enough evidence on the field.

Its about doing a good deal with West Ham now, and I think that's already underway.
45m it is then 👍🤗

I'm sure we have done due diligence with Declan. Arteta also has a good relationship with Moyes if that helps, alhough he may not be in charge nxt season?

Thing that concerns me is the little fella with a big chip on his shoulder.

Zubimendi. Has a release clause of 50m. Moderate wages 100-140k a week and is the right age profile at 23-24.

Zubimendi is no plan B guy......... if a manager has to choose between Zubimendi and Rice in the starting XI he almost certainly will choose Zubimendi. Rice can only dream of being as talented as Zubimendi.

That said Zubimendi/Rice would probably be a much more balanced midfield than something like Caicedo/Rice so I don't see why we shouldn't sign Zubimendi even if we sign Rice.

United didn’t need Vardy back then either, Mourinho just wanted to spite Arsenal which is what Pep might be doing.

Can you remind what was Mourinho up to?

I think 80-100 mil is fair game for Rice, considering the obvious and the current market.

In the very unlikely scenario that we really had 200 mil allocated for the central midfield alone then I can't think of better than both Rice and Caicedo.

If it's a choice of one or the other however, I'd rather try for 2 lesser known/hyped midfielders for 100 mil combined as I am not sure either one alone is enough to elevate the squad and phase out the current crop.

How much longer can we get by on the discount? We need to make these kind of signings. Not only does it improve our playing squad, it sends a message we are not here to F around.

In Rice we get an improvement on Partey, a player with some mettle and old school English anger. He doesnt turn the ball over and can find a forward pass, he never gets injured, wins the ball high up the pitch, he wont go hiding when we are under the pump.

I would rather Rice at 90-100m rather than Zubimendi at half that. This is the Premier League. Not La Liga. We cant have an 11 of technique merchants.

Rivals will **** it if we sign Rice. They will look at Rice and Ødegaard as something that can replicate Rodri and KDB
