That’s your opinion because you support Arsenal. Ask people associated with any other club and they’ll tell you Arsenal can’t get big deals over the line.
You don't understand my point.

Explain to me how that matters in true negotiations between football professionals?

Is for example Caicedo not interested in joining over Chelsea, because Arsenal hasn't in the past got some transfers over the line? It doesn't make sense. Or what is your point? Sometimes Arsenal does pay the asking price like White.

You seem to think that having that kind of reputation is very bad, but that's only for common people and such. My point was asking what does it matter to true professionals in negotiations, and you have not answered.

Reputation for being a tough negotiator is much better than being United, which you brought up. That's a bad reputation for negotiations to bend over often. So it proves my point.

Arsenal has good backup targets which they can switch to, so Arsenal's reputation actually brings leverage in football business.

If he has brains it's City
If he has brains, heart and integrity of the Rumour then Arsenal.

If he wants trophies and to put his feet up whilst the rest are doing the hard work then he’d choose City.

If he wants a struggle and to be scrutinised but have little team bonding sessions and corporate days out then he chooses Arsenal.

Simple really. I know what I’d choose 🤝

"I waited, I waited, and I kept waiting… when there was no news, Eric called Grimandi, who said that the manager was still interested in me [and] to keep waiting," Griezmann wrote in his autobiography.

"Finally a few hours before the market closed, he let us know Arsenal would not make a move. I don't like to be told something and for it not to happen.

"So when Eric told me later that the London club were interested again I told him: 'Forget it, after the blow they gave us'."

In disbelief seeing some of the reasoning going on here.

"Should have opened with 100m and got it done".

It doesn't work like that. City still sell gundo, still come in, and the price just ascends.
Why doesn't it work like that? Once a bid is accepted then City have no need to exceed it - why would a rational actor make it more expensive for themselves? They come in and match the bid then negotiate with Rice.

All our dithering does is piss off the selling club and risk alienating the player who wonders why we are low balling? City come in offer what's wanted and then we decide to match. Who you going with the club that have left you hanging or the one that's been straight to it?

Beginning to really dislike WestHam, I mean they're really stalling the move at this point by hoping City come in for him. They're willing to go to deadline waiting for the cheaters.

Wish they got relegated last season ffs

That's, like, your opinion, man.

The one thing I don't get is them not having an actual metting? Like, it's not like it's a club from halfway across the world...

Always find it odd that after a first position is taken and a second one is encouraged, we just don't have the good old sit down to hash out all the details.

Not just in this case, mind you. IIRC Mudryk was closed because a Chelsea exec flew there for a face to face.

Reminds me when we flew Aaron Ramsey (or flew to wherever he was) in a private jet.

Or they're just waiting for their valuation to be hit.

Arsenal Quotes

You kind of never leave Arsenal. How many comebacks do you make? At one point it will turn out to be a bad move. We all love the first Rocky but I'm not too sure about the last one.
