Throw in those charges hanging in the air.

Imagine winning "endless trophies" only for it to be taken all away, and you are relegated on top of that.

That's why there are levels to this.
Also Pep might be there what 2 more years max? We need to be prepared to walk away though as we're at silly money now. In a tricky place because plan B club will know we have money to burn now.

That’s your Itk info blown to pieces.
Not really - my info to the same effect (that Rice was very much sold on our project months ago and wants to join above all others) came from the top of the club, operationally speaking and is 100% true.

But ultimately and as I’ve pointed out before, we have to pay what WHU want (even City couldn‘t prise Kane from Sp**s), unless the player is prepared to aggressively force his way out, which Rice clearly and fairly isn’t.

To succeed we have to commit a huge sum and City’s sole gambit is that we won’t do it.

There’s a balance where neither Rice nor WHU feel “disrespected” by our offer or each other so get it over the line. This isn’t Mudryk, where all the other parties including the player were fricking loons, or Ronaldo where there was a huge if wholly misconceived draw to Man Utd, or Cucerella where the player was just massively overpriced.

Its really just on Stan/Edu to hit that delicate sweet spot. If they can’t/won’t then the player’s preference frankly won’t count - he won’t cry his way to City - but it was and remains a big advantage if we leverage it right.

There are clear reasons why we are still so in this race, despite being bottlejobs, tinpot cup winners, never CL and PL winners, and everything else rivals and the media want to tell you.

Rivals, fans and pundits alike are scared. They see our ambition, they've seen Arsenal as the best team in the world, and they fear that.

That's why you hear the noise, that's why you see the cheering on for alleged cheaters, or clubs that resort to financial irregularities to try and stop us.

As long as Arsenal havent walked away from this, then know we are there and probably looking good. The moment we walk away, will it be over. Nothing else I reckon.

How much do they value him at ffs?

Declan hasn't done anything at the TOP level yet. Really hate that West Ham are making us strip

Like Harry Kane hasnt done anything?

Sometimes, its important to pay attention to the ones who know what they are doing. When they are willing to spend the money, then you probably need to relook at your own opinion on the player.

Indicates they think the 90m offered is far from their own valuation, doesn’t it?
Indicates they can get f*cked really. I blame Arsenal fans, they gas Artetas targets up so badly even other clubs start thinking they're hot ****.

Their record sales are still Payet and Tevez at under 30m and they think a 90m bid for a 24 year old CM who's far from world class is derisory ffs.

No it's not. I said Rice wanted to come to Arsenal and I believe that is still true.

If we can't get a bid accepted and Man City can he'll go there. It's not rocket science.

It's not my fault you turn to jelly every time Man City's name gets mentioned.

What opinion? I'm not criticising the club, I think we should push to £130m (if possible) because we can't keep missing out on Mikels A targets & expect him to challenge for the top honours.

My annoyance is at the heavy England international tax.

So what now. Im surprised man city offer was s**ty according to Westham they look determined of getting 100M lets see what will happen but the advantage is back to us we need to give them something close to 100m.

We seriously live in strange times when 90M deemed unacceptable 💀

Does this "Santa Barbara" have an end?
Too much time is spent on negotiations.
Now alternatives like Caicedo and Lavia will be taken by other clubs.

I wouldn’t be angry if West Ham talked themselves out of a deal. Anything beyond what’s already been offered is massively overpriced for Rice and what he’s realistically going to do.

Looks bad if yet another #1 target for the club isn’t secured though, I’d probably suggest one more strong take it or leave it offer that takes it comfortably over the 100m mark and leave it at that.

Saw someone make a good point, there hasn’t been any talk from Ornstein or anyone that City will return with a second bid. They always indicated Arsenal would bid again after getting rejected.

To be fair to West Ham, were we all not surprised at the value of Man City's bid? It basically matched ours with slightly more favourable terms. I think West Ham were secretly hoping City would come along and bid £100m+ and are annoyed that didn't happen.

I still think a carefully constructed £100m bid from us would do it.

Also westham making it very difficult to teams to negotiations. They want big installments big add ons teams are paying 100M it's not small amount

Arsenal Quotes

Right from his very first match, when Patrick Vieira was as yet unknown to the English public, he showed just how talented he was. No one disputed his ability, and he gave me the credibility and the hold over the club that I needed to take it in the direction I wanted. He and Emmanuel Petit became a duo that would remain forever etched in the memories of Arsenal fans.
