does anyone still think that we can win the league?

chelsea has won again by beating the pathetic norwich city by 4-0. now they are leading us by 8 points. if we can't beat portsmouth tonight we will have a harder chance of catching up with chelsea who look formidable at the moment. do you people still think that we can still win the league if we beat portsmouth tonight? and what if we lose or draw you still think we stand a chance of winning the title?

We're not even half way through, and you question our chance. Why do I bother arguing with a pathetic point?

Of course we can and we will! We has had our bad spell and Chelsea hasn´t and they are only 5 points ahead. If Chelsea continue like this it will get tough, but they won´t!

oh piss off...what a stupid question

You know what Im amazed at the **** attitude by some people on this forum when someone makes an honest post. Sort your life out Spartan and think before you respond to people like that.

Dont lie and say you havnt considered this yourself. Most Arsenal fans as well as Man utd are likely to be thinking the same. He is only asking an opinion after all.

Anyway Beyondforever, I personally am more and more convinced that we may not win the title this season. For 2 reasons. Firstly I think our poor defending this season will cost us dear and secondly Chelsea just look awesome and its my opinion that they will not have a sufficient bad spell to stop them winning the title. This is just my opinion. I am still an Arsenal supporter and it makes me no less so by thinking another team will win the title.

Yes we can still win the title. I think a thread almost identical to this was posted about three weeks ago, and the question is as annoying now as before.

Gooner329 posted the same question on 28th November so I guess not too many people will bother replying. However its just as good a question now as it was then. :)

Good point, and we should have got two more points against them last Sunday.

In a pretty simple answer to your question.. yes, we can catch them. And yes, I think we will.

at this point in time, we dont look like champions and chelsea do. a couple of weeks ago, it was the other way round. there is enough time for things to turn around again.

I still think we will but am worried that Chelsea are getting a huge lead now and will be able to afford a game or two where they dont win ( hope Terry and Fat boy Lampard get injured for a while )

Stop trying to be a saint. It was a stupid question and you have to wonder how many title races he has seen.

I've sat and considered. if I were a neutral, I'd fancy Chelsea more. I'm confident Arsenal can win the title, but it's abundantly clear if we do, we will have damn well earnt it.

And if we don't, it's the players themselves to blame.

Good quality sides don't have blips and should be consistent all year round.

Fair enough then. Anything I disagree with in future or think is silly, my reply will be something like "What a fu*king w&nk post. Fu*k off"

Is this ok with you Aussie?

Spike, I am going to have to disagree with you there.

We were absolutely average up until January in season 1997/1998 and we poor from October through December. However we still went on to deservedly win the double.

Again we were poor from October to December 2001 but again won the double that year.

Manchester United were poor in the first half of 2002-2003 yet won the title that year.

All in all it is more than possible to be a quality side, have a poor run yet still win the title.

Lets hope that come May we have proven this!
