I think he'll be okay with time. He's not lazy out of possession he just daydreams a bit on occasions. That's definitely coachable because Trossard was very similar when he first came here and now he's very good out of possession.

I think it just comes down to Eze not being asked to do that sort of work at Palace. He was the star so he'd be carried a bit defensively. That won't work here.

If it's still like this in a year then it's time to worry as you say, but I don't think it will happen.
Yeah I had Trossard in mind too. Eze will get there.

Yeah I def see it as more a mentality thing than anything else. Just needs to tighten up a bit. Switched on at all points. Would like to see him work a bit on his stamina over the off-season. An Eze that can still stay fresh into the 60th minute when games start to really open up would be a very dangerous player. All our best and most important players have really impressive conditioning.

If the manager trusts him to express himself and do what he's good at then I back him to deliver now that he's really going to be needed. Losing Kai is a big blow but sometimes the opportunity that you need to assert yourself comes from this sort of situation and I think that given Eze's history and how he has dealt with adversity historically, he will rise to this occasion and deliver some important performances for us. It's not going to be as a 1:1 replica of Ødegaard or Havertz though. Arteta needs to let him be himself.

We’ve seen talented flair players like Joe Cole and Grealish get binned by defensive/system type managers because they couldn’t adapt to the requirements. Arteta most likely isn’t going to change what he wants from his attacking players so it’s on Eze to adapt. Henry said that he had to adapt to playing left wing in a strict system and staying out wide when he first moved to Barca which was obviously a huge challenge for a player who had been the main man for the Arsenal and the best player in the PL for years as a forward with the license to roam. He put his ego to the side, accepted the new role as a supporting wide player and was rewarded with the treble. With the non negotiable type managers you either adapt or you get frozen out.

He was never going to play left wing because we have several better fits and so was always going to play bit part. We are much stronger for it though, he has a great return for squad player. 5 goals 4 assists is good and he's had a big impact if you think about the assist versus city, won us the game against palace and the dunking on Sp**s. We aren't even 2/3rds of the way through the season.

No desire and no tenacity. Madueke is useless, but at least he's trying. Eze sometimes looks like he thinks he's above putting in a shift.

Frustrating player. Has the talent, but not the passion.

Today was his opportunity and he didn’t take enough responsibility when we needed him.

Arsenal Quotes

The coach's role is to make the player understand everything that serves the interest of the game. To do this he must speak to the child within each player, to the adolescent he was and the adult he is now. Too often a coach tends only to speak to the adult, issuing commands for performance, for victory, for reflection, to the detriment of the child who is playing for pleasure, living in the present.
