I’m really hoping he kicks on this season especially if we become more attacking. I’d like to see him on the left wing a little more

11 goals is pretty good for a first season and not really being in the first team the whole time. I wasn't the biggest Eze fan but numbers don't lie.

They do lie a bit.

52 games, 5 goals were in two games vs the same team. So 5 goals in 50 games?

Ok he must be creative? Nope, He created a chance every 130 minutes, not even one a game. Someone like Ødegaard for example, creates on every 36 minutes. Eze finished with 6 assists in 54 games.

Ødegaard had 7 in the league alone. Eze had 3. Even Martinelli, with 800 fewer minutes had 5 in the league. Trossard with 6…. Timber even had more.

Who would other teams take first, Eze or Ødegaard. Eze is simply a better attacking player because he creates more chaos, you cannot press him, and he can shoot and pass. He’s faster on the ball when making decision and this is where we are headed. A return to 1-2 football.

We didn’t lose a match with him starting at 10. But we lost so many when Ødegaard started at 10.

The fact that Eze was given so much defensive responsibility this season is something he had to adjust to and he did. He then was the starting 10 on our win streak and then didn’t start in the last match.

Mentally, we need to vacate the conservative mentality that we have learned the past few years. 50 touches in our midfield. Eze, Ethan, and Max want to attack quickly and are good at it.

It's so fkin annoying.

Also, some people are slyly using it as a stick to beat Eze with for the whole season, which is incredibly unfair.

I hate it, and I hate how flair-oriented players get penalised when one thing goes wrong.

Fans will enjoy the moments when it works well, but then retrospectively circle back when it gets tough. Support your players

I think he goes missing in games way too much. Overall his season has been maybe a 6/10 for me, not bad and definitely some good moments but overall I expected more and I don't feel he is that reliable. We need a guy in that attacking role who can pull off an 8/10+ season if we wanna get closer to that psg level though.

I don't think I can ever forgive him for that penalty.

1. It's not just the fact that it was a stuttered run.
2. It's not just the fact that the goalkeeper went the wrong way early and gave Eze an open net on the opposite side.
3. It's not just the fact that he couldn't even keep it on target despite being an attacker and prioritized precision over a firm hit.

It's the fact that he previously missed numerous penalties using the exact same technique and lazily refused to change it for the biggest game of his life.

His attitude reeks of small club mentality. He's not at Crystal Palace anymore and I don't believe he has fully absorbed that fact in preparation for the biggest moment of his career.

That penalty would look awful even at the local park. He didn't have Gabriel's excuse of being a defender and he came on late so he didn't even have the excuse of tiredness.

Great diatribe full of nonsense. You wouldn't be saying this if he always runs up and smacks the ball but had the same conversion ratio. You wouldn't be advocating he changes to stutter step or something else.

You've just told yourself a little story in your head about how he approaches playing football based on a penalty technique 😂

This narrative in football is just nonsense. Stutter step misses get pulled up all the time but run up and kick it misses get off Scot free

End of the day the ball doesn't go in the net both times

If it's full of nonsense, why didn't you address 90% of it?

1. The goalkeeper went the wrong way early, and he still missed.

2. He couldn't even keep it on target despite prioritizing precision.

3. And worst of all - he missed many times at Crystal Palace using the exact same technique.

Why didn't you address any those points, if you're determined to defend his appalling penalty? I could have mistook you for someone who actually wanted Arsenal to win 🤣

Bro do you ever spend a second on here not talking about Eze? Rent free 😂

He does not have the work ethic to fend of much bigger CBs.
We can say Gyokeres works hard, but you won't see that from Eze.
Sure. I was thinking maybe a false nine role where he'd rely on his technique and flair rather than strength. What Arteta (unsuccessfully) tried with ESR at one point, basically. Obviously, that would require him being surrounded by players with right profiles.

Just to be clear, I remain unconvinced by this idea. Was just curious how others view it.

See what happens when I try to be positive? I think it just doesn’t suit me at this point.
Yeah I’m laughing at the reply after yours. He’s had a positive first season, some people will just never take to him.

He’s scored stutter step PKs before. I feel like I’ve seen the tweet that you’ve gotten swept up with where it shows him miss a stutter step previously. Someone replied to it showing the stutter step pens he’s scored.

He’s like our 5th choice penalty taker, probably less. Somebody has to miss.

Almost gotta give you credit for making it seem bad that he scored five goals in two games against our greatest rivals.

Arsenal Quotes

I'm prepared to be committed to the club at least until we go into the new stadium. For me, it’s important that the club goes in there and that I make sure the team are at a very good level. After that, whether it’s me or someone else, the club will be able to compete at the highest level. But for me to run away now would not be fair.
