Not his best cameo, but he still showed his quality and turned up. In another game he's on a brace and we're winning that one comfortably.

I can't wait to see what he does next.

Feel like he matches what Ode can do in terms of passing but is a better dribbler and goal threat. Him playing on the wing is probably best for the overall team but think we’re missing out without him in the middle.

How in the world do you start merino over him at home vs City? Alongside injuries my only worry, what can you do if your manager doesn’t get it right? I think this squad has everything now.

My biggest compliment is that Wenger would have bought him years ago (if he was still in charge) and possibly built the team around him.

Incredible baller and really likeable guy. Just like Arsène's most players 🙌

Arsène was at the club when he was released tho

Still think our strongest 11 will be Eze off the left, with Ode in the midfield.

Eze was really good yesterday in the 10 though. Very positive signs.

He’s got to play every game when fit whether it’s out wide or in the middle we are a better team with him on the pitch. Serious baller who is clearly loving playing for the club.

Mods are unethical! Özil, come assist me please!
He is the midfield version of Kanu. This player will play high level for years as he doesn't rely on pace.

So much quality he has.

Think its entirely dependent on opposition and game state.

Yesterday we were utterly dominant and needed that breakthrough, Eze and Ode as dual 10s made sense. In other games him off the left makes sense, in other games him as a sole 10 will make sense. Other games Ødegaard is the better option as a sole 10.

Very true, we have so many options now.

It's now on Mikel to chose the right players at the right time.

Even great players don't necessarily look like what they develop into at that age. Rice was released by Chelsea around that age if I'm not mistaken.

I highly doubt Arsène was paying any attention at all to youth players on the bubble at that point in time when he had so many other things on his plate.

I'd be very surprised if he wasn't, he wasn't really allowed to dip into the market so an increase focus on the youth setup would have been a natural inclination for Le Prof.

Regardless, my point wasn't to sh!t on Eze it was to question whether Arsène would have bought him in earlier. I actually think Olise is more of a Wenger baller of the two Palace boys, so there's every chance Eze never moved back at all under Wenger and we'd have Olise on the wing instead.

We’ve been crying out for more incisiveness through the middle and a player who isn’t afraid to shoot. I think there’s a world where Ødegaard and Eze coexist as 10s in the middle - like Silva and De Bruyne did for City.

Yeah Olise was also moved around. First from us then Chelsea and finally City.

Teams and even manager of first team are aware of these players talent from I believe very early. But there are so many other factors than just talent at play, even from such a young age.

I'd like to see him and Ode in the same line-up with Rice OR Zubi at number 6 at home Vs the bottom half. We need to trust ourselves to blow some teams away and use the variety we have.

Ode is an 8. He is a 10. Ode is good defensively, more risk averse in attack, can still pick a pass. Eze the final action guy. It will work, and we have the defence to do this.

Exactly. They compliment each other. We’ve lacked ingenuity in midfield for some time from anyone other than Ødegaard and that’s made us easy to shut down creatively. We’re still too reliant on deadballs and phased build up play, but Eze gives us that instinctive first time execution we desperately need to lift the tempo.
