For the start of the new season, Arsenal Mania has relaunched the news side of the site. All articles are written by genuine Arsenal fans with no hidden agenda. You can visit the site via the menu at the top of the forum pages or go direct to our homepage

Additionally, Arsenal Mania is now sending all its registered members a bi-weekly Briefing Bulletin containing a digest of news and views from both parts of the site. Some of you may have already received the first edition and those that haven't should do so before the big kick off against United. If you are a guest visitor to this forum then if you join as a member, you will automatically receive the Bulletin.

His weakest performance to date.

Didn't ever seem to really take control of the match.

The less said about his first half miss the better 😁

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆
Didn't do much but should have scored another player like Gyok you can't expect top performance because they still getting into team system and speed.

Lowkey on track for a very productive season.

Seems to be getting on the end of some high quality chances and really should have scored at least one over the last couple games.

Will be interesting to see where he plays when Rice, Zubi and Ode are all fit. I feel like he should stay in the middle but we’ve got so many options fgs.

Still impactful, just like when Saka has a bad games and still produces (talent level differences notwithstanding)

We needed more guys like him and I'm glad that load is now being shared.

Tbf Leo on the left seems to have license to come centrally a lot more than we've seen from our LW in previous seasons, so I'd imagine if Eze played there it'd be similar.

I think he'll get equal chances centrally and wide in fairness as Arteta has shown a lot more willingness to change things up this season already, tho Ode fitness dependent he could now play centrally a lot in the coming weeks.

That miss really colours perceptions on his performance - thought he was very dangerous aside from that with a bunch of attempts on goal.

But yeah, had to score there.

Didn't think he was bad today. Still gets 2/3 shots off every game. He has that game winning talent so you want him on the pitch all the time

Not bad at all. He just wasn't as involved as you would maybe expect against a poor opponent. The Rice goal of course is down to him forcing the keeper into a poorly directed save so it's not like he didn't positively impact the scoresheet. I have no worries about him at all. If anything, I'm really excited about the state the attack will be in once he really gets comfortable and hits his stride.

This guy is unreal. Fml.

Has he had a shot yet that does not extend the keeper all the way? We are far away from Ode skying it or just passing it to keepers last season.

Get this guy working man. He is our ticket to the prize.

Yeah he is top and is going to score some massive goals for us this season, he is unfortunate to only have 1 so far. Love him.

Not great as an 8/10 yesterday. He’s still adapting to the style and system, but for now, he’s probably best suited to the left.

What people don’t realise; it's his first time playing in a possession-based 433. The central areas are crucial in that setup, and there’s a lot he can learn from Ødegaard.

Still, has the qualities to adapt; Arteta just needs to help him become more effective.
