He's scared of giving the ball away it's obvious. He's been impacted by the Arteta effect. I'm happy for him to try something and give it away rather than play it side ways.

Why have four CBs playing in Defence and then Rice and still have the players ****ting themselves to give it away.

He had a bunch of games were he kept passing it to the opposition team. He can't be giving the ball away like he did

I feel like he’s still finding his way. Has some good moments in matches but way too inconsistent at the moment. Hopefully one of him or Ode pick up some form in the second half of the season because judging from last night we are going to need it

He played great with Mateta and Sarr ahead of him.

I think we sometimes feel the need to dissect and explain everything (which is fine, it’s a forum after all) but a lot of the time the explanation is that these players need time to gel.

Lots of starting XIs with players being moved around all over, it will take time.
Exactly. He's probably one of our best equipped players in terms of experience playing with a 9 to develop a relationship with Gyok but the entire team has had very little occasion to build continuity with all of the injuries and lineup changes.

There was a moment yesterday where Saka had the ball and Eze was occupying zone 14 whereas Ode would have pulled out towards the right half space. Saka was ready to do his typical pass inside and then move but you could see him look up, realise he didn’t have anyone near him, pause and gesture for Eze (who was kind of just standing around doing nothing at the time) to come closer to him. The move fizzled out and we ended up recycling the ball.

Eze maybe should have offered Saka an option out of the double team but he isn’t exactly doing anything wrong either but I’ve realised these mini-misunderstandings are happening all over the pitch throughout our games at the moment.

I expect us to go up another level once the new guys are settled and then another level once lineups are somewhat consistent and the players can start building some connections.

If both he and Ode are struggling, it might not be the players…

I told you so

Rogers’ final ball and execution are still not at the level we need. For now, we just have to hope Eze improves with time, better cohesion and coaching.

Wenger developed similar profiles in the past, like Hleb and Rosicky. Arteta needs to do the same.

Oh look.Another goal from Rogers. He's a better player than Eze, with a much higher ceiling and the physical capabilities to play in an Arteta team, no doubt about it.

It's because we're over coached. Players have to work **** out for themselves. I'm sure Eze has been told to take up very specific positions.

Football is very simple. Pass and move. We know arteta mega brain over complicates all of these things

Physically yes, but technically and tactically; for £80M? Not for me. Could buy a young French player for way less

@Heavy Duty Rom you’re just cherry picking Roger’s good games as if Eze hasn’t had good games for us. Rogers is known to have the exact same issues that Eze has.

He a great prospect but he also wasn’t worth what we’d have to pay for him as he recently signed a new contract, regardless the club was still interested in him so I don’t even get why you’re moaning about this?

He better make difference against Everton otherwise @Heavy Duty Rom may been right all along. You are a moment player right? Well no moments since Sp**s. Time to turn up. Otherwise we could have just used Nwaneri to get experience if you not winning us anything

Cp is also better without him
But it does not mean anything. He will get better
Same with martin even tho all the experts on here will not agree…

I told you so
And you watch Rogers? He’s got the same issues.

Yes I watch him. Rogers has an issue with temperament, often booked out of frustration, he lacks with pass accuracy, although its getting better. What Rogers has though, is a desire to be the best, he has incredible physical qualities, and in the big games, he's shown he can be a real handful. Vs low blocks, he has what Arsenal fans think Eze has, the ability to take the ball on the half turn in tight spaces and open up the game. He's moved above Eze for England.
