I told you so
He drifts out way more than he drifts in of games...
As of now, he and Gyokeres are the most disappointing.
Hope they will do better in the second half of the season.

Absolutely. I wasn't keen on either signings. Wasn't keen on Madueke either. Club has a real blindspot when it comes to attackers. My biggest issue with Eze is we had Nwaneri here, and tbh, he's more suited to how we play than Eze is, and he almost certainly has the higher ceiling.

I think we just have to accept him for what he is, he's a low touch, end product type.

If he's not on form he's going to look anonymous. It is what it is.

He'll be a bit irritating but then you get a Sp**s type performance out of him. Which probably no-one else in the squad can do.

I did notice he was working considerably harder off the ball against Pompey so that will stand him in good stead with Arteta I think.

A lot of people believed that he should be our LW but nah... he is always a central player.

I am frustrated that we are not using him on the left more often.
I think he’ll get his chance when/if Trossard dips a bit but we may have to accept that players won’t come to Arsenal and hit the ground running, it’s a complex well drilled system they’re going into.

Makes guys like Zubi all the more impressive.

Needs to play more, there is no excuse. Kept us top of the league with Ode out. Teta is risk averse and its obvious why, but enough chances to play EZE - Rice/zubi/merino - Ødegaard. Especially against those sides that simply park the bus. It would drastically improve our build up play and directness.

Our style does favor Zubi alot. Very decent, hardly any risk in his game. Seems quite far from Eze's style.

I was even crying out in some matches for Rice-Ode-Eze if possible. Zubi also needs a break.
I have wondered whether we will ever try that midfield.

I think if we were to have havertz up front it could really work, havertz and eze interchanging would cause opposition defences a lot of issues, but providing us with some balance too.

Definately played his part when ode was out. Can't argue with recent results though since ode came back. We might very well win the league with him being a bit part player for the rest of the season although it might not be enough if semenyo and guehi hit the ground running and city go on one if their classic winning runs.

Where I think it might really cost us keeping him out cold is those tight champions league games where a player like him can be the difference. Hard to come in and perform if you think the manager has lost confidence in you. Everyone knows we lack abit of magic/imagination in our play sometimes but make up for it with set pieces.

This is a player who was good enough in the PL to warrant a 68m transfer. If he is failing, it’s on the manager. He acquired him and then doesn’t know how to use him and does not trust him in the roles of his rigid system. Same with Ethan.

These players offer something different. They are not robotic, they are free flowing. They are the art of football and why we watch. It’s Arteta’s job to tap into it.. to take advantage of it… to serve it up to us. Otherwise give them to Real or Barcelona so we can enjoy them.

The game isn’t only about science.
