i'm agree with this tweet analyse... Eze play more vertical, i like when he take adventage over defender and after make quick decision that normally generate potencial dangerous situation (like in first goal of yesterday) from other side Ode want more the ball and give more balance to the team. are very different players , i hope Arteta start to play them more 50-50 in base of situation and opponent.
For future still i hope the role will be for Ethan:)

First half was unacceptable. Really sloppy, little effort put into the defensive side / tracking back.

Second half he was significantly better.

If Arteta has some scepticism towards Eze that wasn't a performance that would move the needle in his favour really.

Attacking wise we definitely do best with our AM pushed up high (works well with a false9 who drops a bit) and White at RB.

Our right hand side is an absolute mess with Timber x Ødegaard x Saka. You got Ode going deep and leaving Saka in the wilderness but no help from Timber with overlapping.

With White, Saka gets a traditional overlapper and he can tuck in. He is also likely to be able to connect with Eze or the false 9 in and around the box rather than Gyokeres.

We don't need so many ball hoggers and slow the game down. The fact that you all expect everyone including our striker to be super involved and touch the ball shows what's wrong with our football.
This is an interesting way to think about it tbh.

I’ve also expected Eze to get on the ball more than he does but do we actually need that or are we just wanting him to do what Ode does while still bringing his own special qualities?

It’s not like we struggle in possession when Eze plays and maybe we do need someone whose focus is more on pulling defenders around and getting on the end of things in those central areas.

He played on the left 10 and was replaced by Rice. Replaced Zubi in the Game vs Nottingham for the same position.
I guess Tetas trying to work out a role where we can play with him next to Ode in games where we need a push.
LW was a failed experiment it appears.

The below is definitely the sort of combination that I’d like to see centrally. People can have their view with regards to other aspects of his game and he does need to improve imo but generally he gives us something different attacking central areas:

Got to get “second half of the season” Eze in full flow like he did at Palace.

Currents stats. Considering Eze is scrambling to learn how to maintain shape and cover all of his defensive responsibilities, he still gives us the best statistical chance of winning. He needs to gain his confidence to engage more and take some ownership, but that comes from more playing time.

Best is yet to come in my opinion.

He will receive little credit for the first goal since, we can be blind to anything that doesn't add to a GA statistic. But he forces the issue compared to Ødegaard who would perhaps opts to go to the side.

There's maybe a bit of luck with the ball rolling to Timber, but Jesus being free is just the defence being forced to react and losing a man.

That goal simply doesn’t happen if he’s not on the pitch. No one else in our team makes plays like that.

With all the issues we are facing with low-mid blocks in the PL, we need just 1 moment like that in a game to win it.

Nwaneri would do that pass, but he hardly played too

Very underwhelming and downgraded us after being sub on.... It looks like he's not the player that can handle pressure too well

I was very keen in signing him and was adamant that we would because he seemed the perfect final piece to the summer, but he’s been very underwhelming apart from the derby and a couple other games.

Really don’t think he can play CAM in this team and I hope he starts getting minutes in the LW now that Trossard has cooled way offz

Arteta is keeping him on the bench for Trossard which is absolutely crazy. just play Eze on the left let him do his thing ffs.

We had a good thing going for a while when he was our starter in midfield.

Now he's out of form completely and Ødegaard is being Ødegaard.

Trossard had his nice run, now its time to fit Eze on to the left were he doesnt need to be coming deep. He simply cannot play successfully in this midfield. He doesn't have the ability to dictate tempo, he doesn't run off the ball the way a true progressor does, he doesn't have the stamina. He's a final action player. And please, don't play him ****ing Jesus. Play him with someone who can run off the ball.

The thing about Eze is you need to play him into form. He is a slow starter. Even at Palace he only comes alive in the 2nd half of the season.

Now he is so rusty we are in a losing position for our CAMs options

He’s the key for me. Put your money on him and back him. Play him into form. This whole stop and start has to end. Give him the left spot and just play him. He’s the biggest match winner we have

This guy need to play. When he get into sync he can offer difference. Performances from the bench will always be a hit and miss.
