They lost a lot of leverage, but I reckon they knew this was how it was going to go anyway.

Don't reckon he will, but there's also the possibility of him forcing the move.

If this gets done, it'll probably be for 55-60m pounds base + bonuses. Lower, than the clause, but still good money for Palace.

We have a good relationship with Palace and they’re one of the only teams that seem happy to take our cast offs so I hope we don’t try bend them over a barrel.

It’s one relationship that is actually functional. Unlike one other I don’t care to mention…

I suspect we want to do a deal for 55m guaranteed + add ons. Palace will still get to say that they've got a pretty great price for a 27 yo who would be entering what is it, the final 18 mo of their contract?

3/4 games last season where he played well at LW, some of his best games of the season actually. I don’t remember which, I’m not a Chelsea or Madueke groupie.

He can play LW, he’s a versatile attacker. Let’s wait and see, not long before the season starts.
His performance at LW in the Conference final was without exaggerating one of the worst performances i have seen in a long time. So that makes me sceptical. But you are right, we gonna find out soon. Hope he kills it here.

Yeah he played on the left in that match and was absolute garbage. People are talking themselves into him being a LW is crazy. He’s a RW who can do a job on the left. But not very comfortable

At least when he’s on the right he comes inside into threatening positions. On the left he plays as a 4-4-2 old school winger where he runs in the outside and just whip balls in

Man wants to see rice at the base vs low blocks. We just had a season of that. Zubi will play that role. Rice has to show more further up pitch to stay on pitch in those situations.

rice cannot created chance to help us break low block in final third when play at left 8

means he wont be here for at least that.
Not sure if I'm missing something, but why does the existence of an active release clause in any way impact the timing of negotiations with Palace, if it was never our intention to trigger said clause anyway..?

I think Eze will bring something more than just his football quality. His presence alone will lift up our team and create a feel good factor. Ode will have to raise his game or gets dropped. Rice can be used as a lone 6 against relegation fodder with Eze Ode/Nwaneri as 8s. So many posibilities. Come on Arsenal. Don't **** this up please.

This guy’s a crayon eater. Low blocks is literally why we bought Zubimendi ffs.

we bought zubimendi play at DM so he can help build up by deliver ball or carry ball from defensive third to middle third & from middle third to final third not to spesific to break low block in final third

Yes he doesn’t play the final pass but he’s elite at breaking lines with his passing and finding the likes of Saka in pockets of space in a way that Rice and Partey couldn’t.
