The people who keep saying the system will change to support him have no idea how the system will change, and he is just not a player to change the system that much for. Lots of good points, carry on the good fight.
What is the system? Tell me what the hell trossard do on the left hand side that Eze can’t do? Both are combination players and Eze is better player

If Eze is not the LW, then that means Madueke is. I'd love us to get Eze+ a LW (Leao?) but the reality is Madueke is probably the guy.
As I keep saying, you don’t spend £52m on RW back up. Noni will play LW & RW games where we rest Saka. If we buy Eze, LW & CM. Both these players improve our squad, and who knows, they may even improve Martinelli 🙂

Sometimes football is a simple game and stacking your squad with ballers will always pay dividends.

I do not want to compare but Pires turned out fine on the left right? we could do with a creativity player out there.
Yes but Pires wasn't really a winger at all. What really made him a perfect fit out there beyond just his own technical brilliance is that Henry and Cole were the perfect profiles of player to compliment him in that position. Their synergy is probably unmatched in the history of our club. We're talking a couple of levels above the best we've seen from the White, Ødegaard and Saka trio.

Eze and Gyokeres could probably compliment each other nicely but ideally I think you'd still want a LB behind them to provide some width and we don't really have that player in the squad anymore. Still, anything would be an improvement on Martinelli.

Eze would be the man to play LCM (two 10s in midfielder against weaker opp is the way) and cover Ødegaard too, Nwaneri can't do it... then he could play LW as well, but I still trust in Martinelli/Trossard. What I don't trust is in the setup.

But...but...where does Ødegaard play?

I think its much better to play Rice as a RCM and Ødegaard as a LCM anyway. no need to have Rice and Zubi as holding midfielders. Ødegaard and aswell Rice are slowing down the game massive because they want to turn to their right feet to.

People keep saying this but it ignores the fact that the full backs are set up exactly for Ødegaard to be on the right and Rice on the left. The whole point of inverting on the left is so that the LB is the double pivot and frees Rice to be a box to box midfielder. That would be redundant on Ødegaard given he isn’t box to box. There would just end up being an extra midfielder on the left when in possession and a huge hole on the right when the fullback and Rice both end up high up the pitch. If anything it would make things worse because the opposition would only need one attacker occupying the space where the RB would have been to pull the other defenders away.

There aren’t the full backs to change the system at the moment and there is next to zero chance of that changing in this window.

Arsenal Quotes

I was receiving offers from many other clubs and declining them all, even the most tempting ones. Juventus, Real Madrid, PSG contacted me, Bayern, France, England...I am happy to have been able to say no to more glory, more money, and to have been guided only by the idea of loyally serving the club. I had knitted myself a soul in Red and White.
