They were players we needed. And we have been linked with arguably the hottest striker in Europe right now who is begging to join us.

And still it's reported we're fighting over 5m, and at the same time we have no issues giving Chelsea what they ask, as always, make it make sense.

Hopefully you're right. We need them done before the pre season starts, otherwise we all know it'll be the last day of the window.

It's what I expect to happen. Every strong link we've had has included personal terms being fully agreed with the players camp. Zubimendi, Nørgaard, Kepa, now Madueke. Personal terms were thrashed out before anything was done with the clubs. Same with Eze and Gyokeres. Just seems like the business will get done eventually. There's also been a LOT of noise, a bit more than there usually is with Arsenal transfers. Berta's definitely got a different strategy.

I've not been crazy about any of these signings at all but one thing that's different lately is that these deals are getting sorted out quite quickly. Gyokeres is the only one where there's serious hardball going on - I mean if you're gonna back out of a gentlemen's agreement, you're probably a tough nut to crack in a negotiation (I don't mean that as a compliment but it's true). Eze we haven't even dealt with Palace directly - and honestly there's a clause so we don't even need to do too much. We're probably exploring the options but I think the clause or just under it will suffice.

Again, this is just my view based on what we've done so far this Summer. Remains to be seen whether it will happen like that.

I hope you're right, Eze and Gyökeres is a must and I don't want to read that we didn't get one of them because of funds. If you have no problems paying Chelsea 52m for Madueke, Eze and Gyökeres shouldn't be any problems either. If we don't get both of them, next season is going to get toxic real quick.

You want to sit in a low block? Ok while your defenders try to mark Gyokeres and Saka, Eze will be camped out at the edge of the box and he can shift the ball and get a shot off, something Martinelli can’t do.

Nwaneri would be 3rd choice 8/10 and 3rd choice RW. Why would he sign?

Nwaneri should be loaned out to the Bundesliga. Frankfurt or Dortmund would be idal for him to develop

I don't think they want to develop players they won't make money on. They are more likely to buy someone like McAtee instead

Completely agree with this. I can't believe some here aren't desperate to get him in.

He's chaos and someone who change pace in an instant, beat a man, fire one in from range etc.

We're so boring at the moment that dynamism is what we need.

I honestly don’t n know what people expect us to- a club run on credible financial lines - to do in the current market. We’ll be spending £200m less a few (unimportant) sales without losing a single “major” player.

I want Eze, but I'm afraid getting him would mean we're not signing a LW now that we're signing Madueke. Not enough money left, not enough minutes left to go around. And I'm not sure Eze would be the answer at LW - he's better as an AM.

If we do end up getting him, it's probably with a look to make him a LW mainly. A Trossard replacement, basically. I'd rather get a Martinelli upgrade than a Trossard replacement.
