Great take on Eddie by the different knock:

Absolutely superb. Eddie has been seriously unlucky and timing has never been in his favour. Like TDK mentions I was at that Everton game he played and scored in and he did well leading the line, and it was the second last league match before COVID hit but I came away thinking he'd be playing a prominent role. i don't remember what happened post lockdown but he just never played after that. It'd take another 2 years before he properly got the chance to lead the line for Arsenal and even that was somewhat fortunate but quickly proved far more useful than the incredibly limited Laca at that point who was going through a real bad spell. Once again he found himself dropped with the arrival of Jesus and didn't really play until post world cup and inconsistency in February lead to him eventually being dropped.

He's right he's about as good a backup as you can ask for, but also it's just hard to see him ever nailing down a spot here no matter how well he does. It's hard to envisage a team with Eddie as the main man and I do think he'll have to seriously consider his future in the summer for his own sake more than anything else. As TDK says eventually we will look for a real 9 and he'll be pushed down even further than he is now.

Eddie is one of my very top favourite players. So the truth in this makes me sad.

I agree it’s hard to see him ever leading the line. And wouldn’t be surprised if we find another top tier striker soon.

I dont really understand what he brings to this team, even if Jesus don't score he still involved in our attacking play most of the times. Sell him in the summer, I said it this summer, he's not good enough.

Honestly, it's his workrate and mindset. You don't get to his level if you don't have quality to go with those things, but it would be foolish to suggest we can't make a significant improvement there.

He will not get more than 1-2 top chances per game in the CL, and that's where we will find out our true level with some of these players.

Infuriated me today. When Martinelli scored I knew it was offside, he was needlessly slow getting back. He was offside a few times today. Also into the second hald Fabio cuts the back across the line and he didnt anticipate it.

If he is going to make an impact he needs to make the little things count - get back on side, assume the ball is going into the danger areas and attack those areas.

He was a total passenger today

Stinker today. Should have been aware of Vieira's cut back, would have been a tap in

At age 24 he kind of is what he is now, I think.

He’s not good enough to be a starter here but he’s useful as a squad member. Good attitude, has a role.

As a starter in the PL his ceiling would probably be scoring 10 or 11 goals for Palace or West Ham.

Don't think he should be in the squad. Should be sold.
