£34M would be utterly outrageous and if accepted, would be another master stroke from Edu and Arteta putting him on that contract.

I wonder if Balogun would still be unhappy with direct competition for Jesus? If Balogun is unwilling to change his game up to suit us then he also must go.

Bringing in £70-80M for both of them would be something I wouldn’t expect at all. Would also mean we’d need to make a striker signing and the market for strikers is weak.

I doubt the fee but Palace really need to replace Zaha. Didn’t Palace offer like £20M when Eddie had a year left?

Pretty sure both of them will be behind Jesus and Trossard. Potentially even Havertz.

Last season Nketiah had a bit worse np goals vs np xG per 90, compared to Havertz. And that was clearly Havertz' worst season in that regard in his career, which was affected by Chelsea's bad performances as a whole. Earlier two seasons he almost scored as many as expected, and at Leverkusen he overperformed his xG. Then there is Trossard, who is a very good finisher and can play false 9.

Nketiah has already got okay minutes, but hasn't performed exactly as expected, although with some great patches. So either sell him and extend Balogun, or if not possible, even sell both, and get someone like Kudus in who can play multiple positions and even false 9. Then next season go big for a top striker.

Nketiah doesn't exactly look like the most optimal striker for Arteta's tactics. He isn't versatile, but more of a traditional type striker. Has many qualities, but not everything that is needed at the required level.

The club has in any case done well in getting both Nketiah and Balogun to extend earlier, to get good fees for them if sold, rather than losing for free or cheap. People were shocked that Nketiah got quite big wages, but this is exactly one of the reasons they wanted to extend him.

If Arsenal overpaid for example 30k per week for his ability, that would make about 6 million pounds in 4 years if sold this year, to compensate the buying club not wanting to overpay wages. So let's say Palace otherwise would rate him at 40 million, but because of his contract, is willing to only pay 34 million, so they can afford to pay Nketiah. It's still a 34 million profit for Arsenal by extending him.

If Eddie goes I’d be worried about selling Balogun.

I saw Chelsea when they rolled with Havertz as a false 9 and he was utter dogsh*t.

Maybe you can revitalise him as a midfielder but I’m not confident if he’s up top for any number of the games.

True, Trossard will definitely be used centrally. Maybe we’ll go in for a winger if that’s the case. Either way I expect someone to come in if both are sold.

£34m would be a good fee for him. Sell him & either retain Balo or sell both & buy someone Teta actually rates.

*my personal preference would be Brennan Johnson or Ivan Toney. Both unlikely tho. Striker market isn't great right now

If Havertz doesn't work there, we have Trossard. But I have faith in Havertz in multiple positions. This is a different system, which will unlock him.

Balo is leaving and there is no chance we sell nketiah now. Once again nketiah will stay due to circumstances

It's a decent price for Eddiet but I'd still be sad to see him go. There's something special watchin guys from Hale End getting chances and breaking in to the first team. I still believe he could go to the next level and be important player for us.

Have Tottenham closed the gap on Arsenal?
Last time I checked they were still 4 miles and 11 titles away
