Two more players with 2 years in contract next summer: Rice & Phillips.

The midfield market is really great next summer. Good timing for us, but United will be tough competition for some of them.

In the last two posts you've got three of my absolute top wish list targets. Phillips is really underrated on here for some reason. There are a lot of really good midfield options out there this summer.

Think that Rice is pretty unattainable unless we somehow manage to get top 4 with United & West Ham dropping off considerably. Chelsea are going to struggle to get Rice if they want to keep Gallagher; could see Rice going to Liverpool or United though unfortunately.

Adeyemi is another Werner/Auba type striker. No way does he fit what the current Arsenal management wants. These types you either figure out how to use or they're rather useless. Malen is another one, imo. Highly rated by @MutableEarth earth iirc, devastating in the Netherlands and now either used as a winger or in a non fitting striker role at Dortmund and suddenly he seems a bit ****e.

Doesn't hurt to have that option on the bench, but we have Martinelli on the bench to bring that pace and depth. Wouldn't want Malen here, by the way.

Kind of difficult to establish yourself at Dortmund when Haaland is always going to be the main man don’t you think?

It's not really about challgening Haaland. Malen is a completely different type of striker and Rose obviously doesn't play him to his strength when used as a CF in absence or instead of Haaland. That's one thing and more testament to the inability of Dortmund to buy a suitable marshal to their primary striker - they haven't managed that since the Lewa/Barrios days. The other thing is Malen has been primarily bought as a Sancho replacement and Malen's just not a winger of that mold. If anything he's a bit like Auba or Adeyemi or Werner, in that he's a CF who thrives as a lone striker in certain tactical setups but also might be used as a winger in a very other certain tactical setup. I rememeber Klopp, but especially Tuchel placing Auba out right, not to use him as a winger, but to sort of get him off the oppononent's radar.

So Malen's situation isn't really about establishing himself going up against Haaland, it's about being signed as a winger when he's not and being in a role that doesn't suit him when he's played at CF instead of Erling. You can easily compare that to how lethal Timo Werner was in Leipzig's setup and how dead he could look in his youth as a left winger for Stuttgart or now at Chelsea or for the German NT. E.g. Werner scored 21, 21, 19 and 34 goals in all competitions in his 4 seasons at Leipzig - someone that clinical doesn't just randomly drop to around 10 because he suddenly turned to ****e. He's got fairly good numbers for Germany, but mostly looks horrible in that team as a lone CF or winger. We've seen similar with Auba under Arteta.

It always depends what you want and need from your striker. I don't think you should sign Firmino and expect him to play the role and score as Luis Suarez does. It's just very different. Same vice versa. And that's what's happening with Malen at Dortmund, not that he's overwhelmed challenging Haaland for the CF spot.

Wilshere is some kind of signing wenger used to make if we in emergency need.

Wilshere can't escape injures trainings isn't top level football game Wilshere legs can't take it anymore he either change league or retire and go to coaching.

If we want top 4 challenge we need a good midfielder to add

if wilshere is signed, then this club has reached new level of embarrassing. The guy has been finished for years and physically cant play top level football. But if he passes our fitness test it will show how much behind it is than top teams.
