Get me Vicky Boniface the Nigerian nightmare, next year from Leverkusen if he keeps killing Bundesliga. 22 and change, can score and create. 6’2 also since Mik gets gooey in the shorts for tall players

If his manager needs a job he can move back to lovely England a highly underrated spot.

We definitely need to buy smarter and sell better since we might be in trouble with FFP at this rate.

You already have murmurs from inside the club that funds will only be made available in the winter by selling or if Kroenkes sanction another loan.

Kai and Raya were 100m pounds that could've been spent better.
Yeah but that sound too easy. Just buy the players that gonna turn out very good or worldclass and sell our players for big money.

We went from laughing stock to title contenders in 3 years. So i think they bought pretty smart already. To have bad transfers is normal. Of course we can minimise that more but it's not so easy to put in practice. See all other clubs. And yes selling higher is a big issue, but with the salaries some players were on that was another difficult job. So i guess they cut the losses with the FFP in mind.

Rayas money isn't spent. And i guess we can sell Ramsdale for 40-50m. So that would be even a plus. Havertz is another debate but he has been here for 4 months, so let's hope.

But I think we need to be ruthless in january/summer. With the small squad we have we cannot have as many injury prone players as we have.

So from Zinchenko, Tomy, Partey, ESR, Jesus I would try to sell at least Partey and ESR. Not so easy but we might find someone from the east for Partey and I guess ESR has a market.

It would be great if we can sell Nketiah and buy a striker in January. Nketiah out and Toney in would be a pretty good upgrad. Ferguson would be great for the future. But with he new contract it's not gonna happen. So we might concentrate on other positions.

Good player but usure we longer interested

I like him, but he is what these days? 28? Not sure about his mentality too. I think Arsenal needs to move the approach for a more attacking minded 8, just not sure he is the man. Well, better than Rice at 8 (for like 80% of the matches), Havertz and ESR/Vieira he is.

I’m usually all for giving the manager what he wants, but must admit I’m not as comfortable about it this time out.

He’s spent basically 100m on Raya and Havertz, two guys that to this point haven’t contributed anything of really value.

I really wouldn’t hold it against the Kroenkes if they tell Arteta and Edu to do one and concentrate on the players they have got.
Imagine been given a 100m check to strengthen the squad, and the best thing you came up with is Raya and Haverts..

It's normal to have bad transfers, I agree. I just said that in the long run, overspending is not sustainable and we're seeing it this season with the Havertz + Raya transfers probably handicapping us from strengthening elsewhere in the summer.

But yeah so far we had more good than bad. It just hurts more knowing that we could have a proper LCM + Saka replacement for the same money we got for Kai and Raya, Raya will be made permanent 100%.

On the whole our transfer business has been very good; Josh isn't going to look at the 65m on Havertz and conclude that Arteta can't be trusted with his money. He's going to see that we've gone from 8th to challenging for the title with his investment and conclude (rightly) that investment into Teta/Edu has objectively reaped results.

That being said, Teta needs to win something in the next two seasons imo.

I think most players even if the quality is not what fans need are what fits Arteta and they are playing for him and getting his ideas across.

I think for Arteta, the expectation from fans is that Arteta shows he can sign more players who have creativity and flair and work with that in his system.

The Havertz deal seems strange but maybe he planed Rice in the LCM position with Partey DM.

But this has nothing to do with Raya. The money is not spent. Yes he will be made permant but I guess we are going to sell Ramsdale for more than Raya so we could even profit from that. And this would give us more room for FFP.

Are we overspending? I thought we were spending well with our means.

How come you think we’re going to sell Ramsdale for more than we’ll pay for Raya?

Genuinely curious as I’d think teams would look at them and go “you paid Xm for the Raya who you obviously think is better so Ramsdale can’t be close to that value”

I don't think this is how the transfermarket works. Do you?
Not necessarily, but with our club then yes.

It’s definitely how negotiations work.

And looking at this specific situation…

Everyone will know Ramsdale won’t be happy on the bench given Southgate’s comments. And everyone will understands it’s not a good situation for Arsenal given Arteta’s lofty words about playing both and then not at all doing so.

Arsenal’s (or Edu’s) propensity to give up value (pay off, sell low etc) to be able to proceed with building the team Arteta wants and continue the process is also well known in the footballing world.

So all in all, I think we might be able to get 25m, but in reality I actually think we’ll sell lower than that.

I do hope I’m wrong, but it’s another situation where the club could’ve done more to protect the value of an asset, so I’m not betting on it.

It’ll come down to how many clubs are interested imo.

If it’s 1 or 2 then you’re right.

If it’s more then you’re not.

Yeah of course if you get a kind of bidding war that changes the dynamics. Looking at history with our transfers…
