Remember when Raul said we had been identifying targets for a while now and had established plans going into the transfer window?

Yeah, so that was a lie.

Why would that be a lie? Maybe the identified targets are out of our financial reach or just don't want to come here or we're still negotiating things. The point I'm making is there's a lot of different factors in play for a transfer to materialise it don't have to be just down to a lie.

Too early to say that, let’s see what happens.
There is indeed time left, but there is a difference between signing players earlier rather than later. It gives time to integrate players into our squad. It gives time to arrange other business accordingly (both ins and outs wise) to create the squad we envisage. It stops other teams from having the time to get in ahead of us.

If we had a clear plan, we would have made more progress by now. We have a lot to do in terms of both incomings and outgoings and have made next to no progress. We've made a joke bid to Zaha which gives the impression of a team trying to save face by going after a fan-appeasing player. It could have been part of some strategy were it not for the fact that it seems we're unlikely to follow up on it at all. We're also slow to bid on Tierney again. Seems to be so hesitant and lacking direction. Reports of ongoings inside the club seem to be saying the same. Saliba looks to be wrapping up at least but in the scope of the coming year, it means little.

Maybe the club will still make something of this window, but what has happened so far suggests that the club didn't have as developed of a plan as it led us to believe. Hopefully time will prove that wrong.

I honestly still think this window will be worse than or as bad as the summer of 15. Dont think the club made a plan for no CL at all.

Exactly this.

That interview Raul and Vinai done about outsmarting the market was cringeworthy.

Tbh **** looking at the business our rivals have done, we should have been proactive as this is our third year in the Europa League and the club know this squad isn’t good enough. I’m sure Raul was watching when we got thumped by Everton, Wolves and Leicester yet nothing has changed.

There’s 27 days left and we’ve not signed anyone but I guess next season Emery will train this group of players better and teach Mustafi how to defend.

the plan seem was Saliba Tierney And Zaha. Tierney deal on hold Zaha we waiting for him to force the move Saliba is done but not announced yet. i think if we have enough money we could have get Tierney Zaha deals done by now.

Angry & Miserable
We used to struggle getting big names out of clubs above us.

We now struggle getting Palace, Celtic & St Etienne players.

Talented youngsters of today were like at most 2 years old when we were last winning titles/a proper big club. Sadly, the longer this drought goes on the less relevant we will be in the minds of the hottest prospects.

But from the players we're going for none of them would be able to even go on tour with us anyway. So why not wait if we're certain we can get it done for better prices.

If that isn't a certainty of course move onto other targets but if Zaha is absolutely doable and we know its doable, which we will by now, then by all means wait.

Upamecano really available for 30m Euros?

Who said this ? More like double.
Would sacrife Zaha (ain't gonna happen, so hypothetically speaking) for a cheaper winger to get Upa though.

Saliba and Upamecano. The dream.
Probably the best CB pairing potential wise in the league.
