He was right about Marquinhos being a weird signing aswell tbf.
Looks more of a dribbler. Seems to be actually highly rated rather than a punt. Think it'll be more expensive as a result. I'm up and down on this but he looks better than Marquinhos at least.

Long term I don’t see Rice as an 8, he’s a 6 for me. I’d pick one of Rice or Caicedo as a long term 6. For the 8 what I want is a young Verratti/Kroos. Technical control of the ball. That’s what you need to partner with Ødegaard.

I agree 100%. That player is Mac Allister for me if we’re looking within the league, but it looks like a done deal with Pool. Groß and Gündogan as well but would prefer slightly younger.
I actually still like Aouar a lot. He seems to have fallen off but I want to remember reading about Lyon not playing him as he’s not extending and leaving on a free. Has all the technical and passing tools but questionmark on mentality. Now Xhaka’s leaving I’d take him on a free as backup lcm. Still young enough and easily better than ESR and Vieira. Not much to lose and if it doesn’t work out you can easily sell him on next season.
Also like Paqueta, but different profile from the Kroos’ of the world

I totally agree with you. Rice isn't effective enough as an 8; I'd avoid him. Have no idea why we're not in for Macalister?
