Interesting that there aren't any more noises regarding Tielemans. It seemed we had some sort of agreement at one point to sgn him in the summer but those rumours seem to have cooled. Must have seen better options elsewhere it seems. Or was there something they didn't like about him as the season progressed?
Most likely our over-achievement has raised the stakes. Tielemans might only be a reserve here if we get Rice or Ciacedo. Would he be happy with that?

It does, apart from the wages. Think he's on about 250k
Bayern turned down a £60m option for a 29-year old. That’s what City want for a fee. So we’ll pay something similar considering our recruitment model? Not even about the wages. City want a huge fee. Absolutely no chance this happens.

Going for Gundogan, Cancelo. Why are we even operating under the pretense that this is Arsenal Football Club anymore?!!

I f*cking hate this myopic strategy where we pick off City's refuse & try to make them work for us because apparently, the only way to play football is to mimic a certain bald tw*t whose brilliance far outshines Michels, Sacchi & Wenger combined!!

This is beyond revolting.

I kind of agree & kind of not.

You cannot deny that Zinny & Jesus totally transformed how we were able to set up & play last season. It worked for the most part & who knows if both had stayed fit for the entire season, it might have been a different story..

It is a bit cringey going after City's unwanted or out of contract, but if the players are right for our set up & will make the difference & take us to a trophy, I'm all for it !

Cancelo is a good player & would be a smart buy. Gundogan - the same, but there is always the risk his legs fall off an Aubameyang shaped cliff or he lacks the desire.

Cancelo is a no for me and I'm not convinced we're interested (we've generally aimed at CB/fullback hybrids as first choice, see Martinez over Zinchenko) but Gundogan has been City's best player towards the end of the season and they want him to stay so calling him refuse seems silly?

Gundugon has the absolute latest pep tactics and tweaks we can copy. Tbh we are city light in everything we do. Which is why we have by far the worst record against them of the top teams since Arteta took over.

I'll admit, he certainly is the exception to the rule.

I just don't see how this can be reconciled with our vision to field a young, vibrant team when we're loading it with experienced albeit less enthusiastic professionals.

What incentive would Gundogan have to elevate us next season when he'll most likely have crowned his City tenure with a CL title next Saturday? None.

I couldn't care less if it works, it's deeply unimaginative and something that instead of making me feel proud of supporting the Arsenal, makes me think that I should just stop being an idiot, and upgrade to support City instead.

Which is why I don't think he'd (Gundogan) go for it anyway. Reckon if he goes it'll be for a fresh challenge in a different league.

Aren't Barca supposed to be very keen ? Can see it being a good fit.

Just watching the Barcelona v Celta Vigo game and Gabri Veiga (who we've been linked with) has just hit 2 goals in dramatic fashion to keep Celta Vigo in La Liga. Anybody who gets him will be getting a good player. I can see Brighton going for him. They always seem very smart in the transfer market. Plays in a LCM role in a 4-3-3. I can definitely see why we are interested...

Looks good doesn't he? Seems to have enough pace and skill that he could play RCM or RW too.

Yeah he looks really good. The guy was in tears after the game. He's had a good season. During the game the commentators were stating that him and Aspas scored half of the 43 goals Celta Vigo have scored between them. Both of them pretty much kept Celta in the division.

Only thing i'm not too sure about is the 76% pass completion which needs to be higher in our team. 11 goals in 28 starts is very good though considering his age. I can only see him being an option if we fail on Rice though.

On a side note, Valladolid have been relegated from La Liga so it will be interesting to see if rumours regarding Ivan Fresneda start to gain momentum.
