And my only point is that what he does today might be a flash in the pan. No guarantee he’ll play at this level for Arsenal again because this season is an outlier compared to the previous two.
So because this might be a flash in the pan it means the player most responsible to getting us to 80+ points is not difficult to replace?

Genuinely don't see how it's possible to come to a different understanding here? Leaving personal bias aside do you really think there are so many midfielders out there who could replicate his role and form this past season?

If Arteta goes for a “hard button” as he said, he might want different things from his 6 in the next iteration of his team.

Would mean we have to set up very differently though, our structure is heavily based on him.

Not saying it's impossible just difficult to imagine without replacing a couple more.

It would be very nice to have some important business done early. Eases the pressure for the rest of the window and allows us to look for opportunities as they arise.

I'm guessing this summer we will see a lot of doninos fall. Madrid replacing Benzema, Saudi money, PSG splashing out as well. Interesting few months head.

Why mention that season when we're discussing who should come in the summer? You wouldn't mention Martinellis 21/22 season to say it's easy to find a better LW than him now would you?
Martinelli was a project. Partey wasn't. For a player that cost as much with his experience I think it's fair to expect a more consistent return from Partey.

Why would we want Kai Havertz?

People in here are really acting like a player who has put together maybe 45 good games across 3 seasons, is injury prone and might be playing in orange or khaki next season can't be improved upon.

I think people are just going off when he is fit & in form. There are few better players when both these factors are in tandem. The trouble is, like you say, they haven't been in tandem nearly enough.

We need consistency.

Yeah agreed. When his best season here wasn't even 75% of the matches showing that top form and fitness, we have to be wary. He's not young either. Really can only go downhill from here for a myriad of reasons.

Caicedo and Rice bids? Can't see it being true, but if it is and we have been working behind the scenes on Caicedo before we bid for Rice. That would be something.

How would you see them lining up in the same team?

The thing i don't get is, Arteta has mentioned numerous times that he's told Xhaka he needs numbers from him, or he'll find someone who can give him goals.

Why Fresneda topic is locked ???

Romano says BvB leads the race but nothing done yet.

Bild who says BvB can announce Fresneda also says Arsenal are in the race
