Will we sign an attacker before the window closes?

Jesus will have to accept being 3rd choice striker and 2nd choice right winger in this scenario.

We then run into a Winger problem. Lets say we sign Isak then for winger we have Trossard/Jesus/Saka/Martinelli.
Only Martinelli is a direct threat with pace. One of Trossard/Jesus has to make way for another Winger then.

Lots of clearing out needed this summer to make space financially but also squad wise.

Firstly, players like Nketiah and Nelson can fetch a decent amount and can all be written off as profit.

Then you have Ramsdale, Lokonga, Partey, Tavares who have to go.

Then there’s the fringe players who I think aren’t good enough here. People like Zinchenko, Vieira etc. If you get a good bid for ESR we may part ways also.

There’s a good £100-130m sitting there. I’d be happy if we shift at least half of the names mentioned above.

My guy wants rid of 9 players you know. Did you fall asleep listening to this?

Isak/Jesus can play wide, with Jesus being comfortable off both flanks.

A guy like Isak would kill two birds with one stone, we’d have a lot of different options in attack.

Well no coz if Martinelli is out then Isak can play wing with either Kai or Jesus or Trossard through the middle. I don’t think it’s ideal but it’s better than what we got

It is not a numbers problem that we have with wingers. Even Viera can play RW. He regularly played there in Portugal and has also played for us there sometimes.
Its what we need, a direct threat. Which Jesus surely can't solve on wings and even Isak is unlikely to solve. (I don't buy the Isak LW/ST two birds one stone theory).
We need a proper Winger even more so as we don't depend on FBs to provide with. This should be a higher priority than ST.

Given a choice if we can sign just one of Williams/Isak. I would pick Williams always. We can play with Havertz/Jesus at CF. Without Martinelli we don't have a direct pacy winger.

If you have a guy like Isak at 9, someone that’s more direct and more willing to run in behind that Havertz/Jesus, your wingers don’t have to be as direct.

You should qualify this by saying why you don’t buy it given that’s the point being made in both the posts you quoted…

Pace in behind is an attribute. Not a position…

Nope that doesn't work always. That Havertz anyway does currently.
The thing is pace is essential at the wings to Stretch the pitch. Otherwise the opposition defends narrow. Most of the time open space to attack is on the wings only. Isak can drift wide but then we have no one in the centre. Also he has decent pace but he is no Martinelli. So it can work in game when Martinelli is also defending deep. But for a full game when Martinelli is unavailable is not ideal.

If Martinelli gets injured
Isak/Havertz/Saka
Isak/Jesus/Saka
Jesus/Isak/Saka
Williams/Havertz/Saka
Williams/Jesus/Saka

Rate the above options...
Any option including Williams would be better.

The clearest indication that Fabrizio is working with City, Chelsea etc.

City are teasing the release clause as they want a Saudi club or Barcelona to bite the bullet and pay 50m for a 29 year old. The lengths City 115 have to go to now because there are eyes on their dealings 😭
Tbh 50 million for him is not bad move. This guy will play high level well until his 30s

Good source as well @Rasmi

I think one of him or Diaz will be sold if mbappe and Endrick goes there. I think the Diaz will be sold and I would gladly take him. With Rodrygo we have too many Brazilians already.

He’s not wrong though. I don’t think we need to part ways with Zinny, although I wouldn’t be against replacing him.

Neither of Nketiah, Nelson, ESR, Vieira, Lokonga, Patino, Tavares, Tierney should be here when next season starts.

Elneny, Jorginho and Cedric have expiring contracts so will likely move.

That’s not including Partey but I’m leaning towards keeping him for his final year if he can stay fit rest of this season. He’ll get us a next to nothing fee and we won’t find anything close to value for money if he can stay somewhat fit.
